What a wild night....wow !
the sound engineer had the system tuned but i'm not sure he was ready for the dubstep sound. i put on Blue Velvet (a distance tune) and it was all rumble. You couldnt hear any hi or mid. After the sound engineer started to figure things out (sort of), the guy in the tent (at the other end of the dj culture area) turned the sound down.
Someone on stage went to the tent and asked the soundman why he turned down the system...he said, "The people at the fashion show up the street (a city block away) cant hear anything at all. Too much bass." One a scale of 1 - 10, the volume @ 3 -- and you know i like playing at 11. During one point, the main speaker stacks just cut off. I think the speakers clipped and needed a break. For a 2 song stretch, all people were getting was the front stage monitors. After a while...i think the sound engineer just gave up...and that's ok. It still sounded ok...but i could and should have been louder.
Honestly, i had the time of my life. This was a special event. i had a ridiculous time there. too much fun! it was all good seeing all the faces (some old and new) in the place. People were holding up 5's, and just having a good time...all night. everyone was really into it and i'm happy about that.
Even afterwards....that was all good.
Emcee Child got the crowd hype....
Digital K and JohnAsk ripped it.
King Britt...ripped it.
Sister Nancy came on after KingBritt and she slayed it. No joke...slayed it!
it was one of those nights that will be talked about for a long long time....
truly special.

Joe, you def got B-More on lock; everyone I met had heard about the Dubstep sound from you, and after witnessing the madness in person they are now full-fledged converts! Keep pushin that isht forward!!!
