Also his drum samples have a sick realistic flavour that not many producers roll with, yet they're just as hard hitting as any. Distance is definately proof that less can me more when it comes to percussion.

Salute!

One of my top 3 producers of all time! I remember meeting him @ some club under a bus stop and being gob smacked at his set. Him n Jay Da Flex mashed it up!

just had a good listen to em both...

the vex'd one isnt that different and is more of a tweaking so i still have more respect for distance on their remix but i just think the bass is fuller & the snare hits harder...

they're both excellent tunes. the vex'd mix is progressive and takes it somewhere completely different, there's alot goin on there. but the original has a speacial place in my heart cos it's one of the first tunes i was like :o what is this? they way the drums just slink in.. and the subs tease you thru the intro. it's fucking sublime.

Distance rules! :)

Why the hell can't I ID the first tune from this mix:

Kiss FM - DJ Distance 24-Jan-2006
http://barefiles.com/download.php?id=394

... the one right at the start that they are talking over?! with the flute sample...

I'm sure I know what this is already but can't find it for the life of me - argh! Tayo (the host) says "...sounds of Dub Child - Mount Zion" but it's certainly not that...

Someone help please! :)

Infact if someone has a tracklisting for this I would be V greatful - pun intended hehe..

edit - got the tracklist but it doesn't contain any info for the track I'm looking for :(

Skream & Distance - Political Warfare - Dub
Distance - Fallen - Boka
Distance - Travels - Dub
Distance - Cyclops - Planet Mu
Distance - My Demonz - Dub
Cyrus - Prayer (Distance Remix) - Dub
Vex'd - 3rd Choice - Dub
Distance - Tuning - Dub
Distance - Cella - Dub
Distance - Taipan - Boka
Distance - Night Vision - Dub
Vex'd - Killing Floor - White
Distance - Traffic - Planet Mu

The Vex'd Remix of Fallen reminds me of the 5th Element. The part when Leeloo first gets a view of the hustle and bustle world after she crawls out of that vent. There is a sample Vex'd throws in the track that sounds like a reverbed horn echoing. Really makes my imagination running. Both versions are complete devastators though!

All about Cella! isn't this meant to b dropping sometime? That and Traffic jumped out at me the most on DWarz all those years ago but all of his beats are truly sublime.

victim support gets a wheel everytime. If i dont reach over and pull it, my managled up bassface usually forces the dj into such an action. Sick sick tune. My demons is the best solo dubstep album so far imo.

been a bit quiet on the release fron of late hasn't he? still, a purveyor of quality over quantity for definite. agree with the comments about empire, that tune is the one (no grando)
