seriously, when was the last time you guys played any of these mega drive games?? when you actually go back and mash up games like golden axe and altered beast the gameplay ain't there anymore, just good ol' memories of music and visuals.

when it comes to timeless classics that you could enjoy just as much now as you did back in the day it has to be SNES:

mario world
yoshi's island
secret of mana
secret of evermore
arguably the best final fantasys in the series
chrono trigger
unirally
starwing
street fighter II turbo
super street fighter II turbo
street fighter alpha II
zelda III
super metroid
donkey kong country 1/2/3
super turrican
tetris attack
treasure hunter G
contra III
f-zero
the original ISS (pro evo to the noobs)
mario kart
killer instinct
super tennis
mario rpg
super r-type
super bomberman 3

I play my Mega Drive all the time. I have to disagree, the gameplay on Mega-Drive games exceed most of the shite released in this day and age. Granted, whilst they can't obviously compete in graphics and, indeed, content, I'll still have a laugh with my mates with games like Toejam and Earl (what fucking ACID-INDUCED MAN thought up of that game? I want to shake him by the hand...With my TONGUE) than popular games like Halo, which are supposed to be gameplay reamed.

In short; i dunno lol

Toejam and Earl is a fucking brilliant game. All about the Nerd Herd.

I still have my Megadrive hooked up in my room... the PS is downstairs - it has no place in my room... (or my heart). Aside from GTA and Pro Evo the PS is waste.

Street Fighter 2 (Super and Turbo - i crush people to this day...)
Sonic 1-3
Streets of Rage 2
Golden Axe 2
Revenge of Shinobi (side scrolling KICK ASS action)
The Lion King (fucking BOSS platformer)
Road Rage 3
Alex Kidd in Miracle World.
Donald Duck's Duck Hunt.
Fifa 96
Batman Returns
Toejam and Earl
Micky Mouse: World of Illusion
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Michael Jackson - Moonwalker
Ghouls and Ghosts
NBA JAM

I love/loved/had/have them both.

Massive SMH at anyone saying the DC was waste. :?

Absolutely amazing console, some great RPGs on there and the best best console (along with the 64) for multiplayer fun.

I remember the day I got mine.. got it off some dude in The Loot, he drove down from Manchester (think he was coming to London anyway) and my mum and me met him at Bush station. Dreamcast, 4 pads (2 white, 1 green, 1 black) and about 64 games!! CD-Rs of course, but oh the fun we all had. :)

Um, both had different (exclusive) titles. No competition, really. I had both and liked both equally.

i'm a BIG Nintendo fan... but i might just have to go with mega drive purely cos it was the last decent console that SEGA made...

genesis/saturn/dreamcast were pretty waste (although Die Hard Arcade on the Saturn was SICK!!!!)

so... against my religious beliefs... MEGA DRIVE!
Genesis WAS the mega drive, dude. It was the American Mega Drive...

im gonna have to say mega drive too. SNES has a real soft spot in my heart because i never had one and always wanted one, but I HAD a Genesis, and it was fucking beautiful. Ghouls and Ghosts for Genesis was AMAZING! and sonic 3? when you could put other sonic games on it and it would let you play knuckles or whatever? fucking dope. sega are amazing, and i hope they come back to making consoles someday :D

Same, nothing beats the classics. Mega Drive all the way.
