Do you mean this badboy?...

that's a good shout- looked like he might have had a touch screen as well although none of the effects sounded like a Kaos pad- any thoughts?

I've got one of these badboys, might fit the bill?
That's a sexy piece of equipment, although I'm pretty sure Lotus was using the one Rekorder pointed out. Do you use ableton through that as well and would you recommend picking one up?
yeh i've got one of these one's, very nice piece of kit (although one of the pads is broken now), wicked for bashing out rhythms...

HA! I really thought my misses was going to run onto the stage and kiss the man- only time I've ever felt insecure in our relationship- the funny thing is- I'm not sure that I would blame her if she did :? -w-

Yes and yes. I use a firmware mod on it called NativeKontrol as well though - you can map virtually all abletons controls to it and use the x-y pad as a mousepad, then at the touch of a button go back to using it as a drum controller.

twas a proper amazing set, and even better he was obviously really enjoying it himself.

Club tent felt a lot more like a proper rave this year, possibly because they cordened off the dad house brigade in the Rizla maximum security dance prison

for all those pointing at ableton i hate to inform you that you're wrong.

I am led to believe that flylo uses max msp (probably heavily customised to his own requirements) with some pretty basic m-audio trigger pads, as well as other external effects units (inc a kaos pad) and midi controllers (one of which being the legendary Monome, well worth checking out if your a gear head). Although I peeked at his screen once and it looked a whole lot like traktor...

oh and the club tent was not in the slightest bit a "proper rave" (at least when compared to last year with the DMZ boys playing to an intimate, mud glooped crowd...). Wayyy too many underage armbands, flashing strobe lights and plastic horns. If anything it was like Caspa & Rusko play the under 18s night at the local students union, and some naughty 6grader spiked the juice with a sumptuous cocktail of goodies.

Whoever said the rizla maximum security dance prison, kudos. I think it did attract a lot of the peacocks with its stage and promises of filming in progress.

thanks for pointing that out. looks ace! (too bad not mac compatible).

and i doubt FlyLo is using max/msp for live shows. that program is notorious for being hard to use and even harder to control live. FlyLo must be a genius if he gets that stuff shredding live.

when i heard him play at Red Rocks last weekend, everything he did could have been done with Live. There's a lot you can do with Live, you just have to be creative.
