i am sorry for that superstar thing..
questioning the reasons for what we do is always welcome...
what do you think were the reasons we did awards last year then?

As soon as i read that my first thought was "oh shit, someone doesn't speak english and is using google translate"

I have no idea what the hell is going on in this thread tbh, seems like more arbitrary beef with the moderators purely because they are the moderators.

i highly doubt any of the mods on this board actually think dubstepforum has any real control over anything. im guessing for the most part they just find this forum to be a place for people to come together and talk about music they enjoy.

i would also think they would believe the forum awards are exactly what it says on the tin.

and if you think someone deserves recognition/an award place your vote. get your friends to place their vote. it's pretty damn democratic system (which can, at times, be about popularity unfortunately) but it's the systems problem, not anyone persons.

i mean they didn't just make up a bunch of votes and stuff the ballot. everyone's vote is public (so to speak) and out there for everyone else to see.

and anyway if you go around actually worrying about (with all due respect) awards given out by forum "nerds" you might need to get a new hobby...no one should really take them that seriously...

agreed. many of the threads I read these days are just folks putting words in other people's mouths, ie. "obviously the forum is trying to control the scene" or "based on these facts, so-and-so is in it for the money"... in the end they're all just assumptions (and probably wrong), and it's frustrating that these people have such a narrow perspective on things.

sounds like someones got a massive chip on their shoulder

after all, the "elitists"/"nerds" on this forum haven't helped your music career in the 'real world" at all have they?

like it or not, this forum is made up of dubstep fans from all over the world. they also exist in the real world, they go to nights and buy your records

Very good point. I have a hard time taking someone seriously who slags off the way this forum is run, yet at the same time relies on it for advertising their parties/releases/mixes/etc.

This isn't directed at anyone in this thread, more of a general observation...

Kultures right though. Last year was shit. All the forum 'scene' kids stood at the front and thought what they'd managed to put together was a work of absolute genius. It wasn't an excuse to party it was just an excuse for the forum heads to get together and do some cliquey shit. dress as ninjas, laugh at MC buffalo bullshit.

I dont know if any of you noticed because you were all so busy filiming it on ur phones, but the room emptied behind you and completely died after Kode9's set. N-type had the task of mopping up the pieces which didnt really seem to happen.

I think what some of the folks on this forum don't seem to realise is that is that they make up only 0.02% of the people that go to events and pulling that kind of shit just confuses people and makes dubstep into just another 'scene' with its own kids. I took some friends who'd never been to an event before and id never felt like such a twat for taking people to a complete shambles.

I hope this year, it can be a straight up rave, no bullshit. Respect to the DJ's, Producer and MC's who deserve their awards and then get on with throwin some shapes on the dancefloor.

Big up Kulture for speaking his mind, I think you've said what alot of people involved in the scene have wanted to say about this forum but won't out of fear of being alienated by them.

People who appreciate good music with their friends fortunately will always exist and if a few individuals on a forum pulled similar shit week in week out the events that keep the music alive would simply die.

When you organise the event this year. Do it with you average non forum reader looking jow in mind. Please.

Some interesting points although it was called the dubstepforum awards for a reason.

It was a bleedin' night with, as Ben said, MC Buffalo making an appearence for gods sake.

yes, the dubstepforum is one big happy family

except only a few invited pure bloods can post in "the bash"

it would seem the opinions of the masses are not wanted/needed/respected and yet the very same plebians are expected to rally out for a night of sub par entertainment

big up kulture for questioning the pomp and ceremony, and not nodding and smiling for the sake of it.

would you expect, for example, kode9 or scuba to comment on this topic in public forum? NO
but in Bash they can safely tell their opinion and give us advice about this and other forum related topics!
why do you think that it means we will not read or carefully consider everything you say here as well???
FlashHarry wrote:big up kulture for questioning the pomp and ceremony
if that is what he meant, than i say big up as well!
as you will see soon...
