Best dj??? Skream??
geesh I dunno about that. I mean the guy is a BADMAN for sure and does produce some of my favorite tracks to date but IMO his dj skills are lacking. Now if he got an award for most rewinds in a set then I'd agree with that one. People over here passed out stickers at his show..

Senior cabinet position in the new Obama administration? Must be.Elementalism wrote:Very big look for you, son! And a good look for dubstep, so there's definitely a drink waiting for you down DMZ. I'm not gonna say what it is because I don't know if it's officially out.
November's been a fucking good month for democracy though, innit?
I'm guessing secretary of state.
lol come on man, that just sounds snobbish.djsence wrote:Best dj??? Skream??

he is a good dj. he mite not be the BEST technically, but his selection is sick and his mixing is good.
i could sit and nit pick and name dj's who are better mixers, but he is good enough of an all round dj. he deserves the award.

I don't get it, he's not even in the top 150 dj's (a par obv, no dubstep/grime djs - spyro/mala/martyn)?SwiftGuyver wrote:yong wrote:wtf did he doSwiftGuyver wrote:i'm guessing he has won Best British DJ in the recent DJ Mag poll...?seckle wrote:out to skreammm!! congrats bro.

I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.
There are two seperate polls, the main DJMag awards and then the best of British one which is what Skream was nominated forpete bubonic wrote:I don't get it, he's not even in the top 150 dj's (a par obv, no dubstep/grime djs - spyro/mala/martyn)?SwiftGuyver wrote:yong wrote:wtf did he doSwiftGuyver wrote:i'm guessing he has won Best British DJ in the recent DJ Mag poll...?seckle wrote:out to skreammm!! congrats bro.

the anti-rewind party poopers are starting to get on my tits - to rewind or not to rewind? wtf cares? those stickers are on some proper geek shit.
maybe "best DJ" has more to do with consistency, presence in music, big bookings and general popularity for a year's time than some quantifiable level of technical skill - if a magazine is giving the award obviously its judged on a set of criteria that is different than DMC or wherever DJs get together to pat each other on the back.
big up everyone who's steady entertaining the common folk.
