first attempt of breaking outta 140, only managed to get to 145 without getting scared
It sounds a little quite. Those pads need turning up a bit they get lost in the tune and could do with a bit more variation and movement on them.

Loving the weird stabs when the bass comes in. Like the little staggered bit at 1.40.

Could do with a few more elements in it just to keep to flowing a bit more for me imo.

Here one for the thread.

I like much of the elements of the track but it gets boring quite quickly as there isn't much variation and seems to move along too slowly.

I think it could do with a bit more variation in the beat pattern, bring the different elements in and out a bit quicker, chop it up so it doesn't sound like a big loop if you see what I'm saying.
Thank you! I will see about getting that sorted. I listened to it again this morning, and agree that it starts to feel really slow. Maybe I'll change the drums to an actual break beat through the middle, that should add some energy I'd think.

It's funny how easy it is to lose perspective on the overall sound/feel when you are writing it, and have listened to it so many times. Impartial ears are a god send.

Safe yeah it needs a good mix down just started it a hour before a put it up hehe, thanks.

No Love is nice, great intro and the track moves along nicely, loads of great elements I like how its a bit chaotic but still keeps moving. The strings are done really well not sure about all the little wobble bits though I think they maybe take some of the vibe away from the strings, kind of make it sound like theres 2 tracks in 1. Its got a good sound and feel to it overall though.

Hope is still epic though \o/

I like the track legend4ry but agree it needs variation. The pads are cool & I love the cut up effect at 1:40.

No Love has some AWESOME pieces to it. The bass doesn't feel quite right for me though. I think if the bass lines were changed up for something different that tune would be ill. Hope is dope. I like how well you seem to integrate the more organic sounds like violins & such - well executed.

I just wrote a new tune today, Computer Music. I feel like this one shows quite a bit of progression from where I started a few months ago.

You can provide feedback about what you thought, obviously you like music so you should be able to pick out things that sound off, lacking, too much, etc. You don't necessarily have to know how to fix it, but any input is helpful for those of us asking for help I'd think.

I'll listen to yours after I get out of work.

thanks mate! :D

i listened to your track 'apollo' and i like the vibe. i dont know what your ultimate goal is for the track though....i would like to see some variation to your pads though. perhaps change the note/chord, raise it a third and/or use some fx. i think the crash cymbals is a bit wide and tinny if that makes sense. i wouldn't mind seeing more drum variation and the whole track getting more lively in general, but you may not desire that. the bass came thru quite nicely and maybe too loud. its kinda early in the day now and i dont have my bass too loud so as to not upset the neighbors this early, but it came thru quite nicely. just outta curiosity what did you use to make the bass? thanks

for bass i use malstrom on reason 4, using like £20 headphones to produce so hard to judge basslines,
i see what u mean it is quite boring, needs some drum varation i guess. with the crash cymbals does that need compression?

anyway thanks for posting back :D

hey guys sorry bout not placing any feedback on my own thread but my internets been about as predictable as a crack fiend its been up and down so ive been trying to listen to everyones tracks heres what i came up with.

Johnny Beat
i really like the synth and the vocals are really sick, i think it needs a heavier bassline though but thats just my opinion

ChrisH
insomnia has a nice vibe to it, its got some good choir and backround fx
are you high has a really nice sound but i agree it needs abit more variation.
computer music has good drum programing and proggresion the bass sounds sick.

Manray
clockwork has got a nice heavy bassline sounding pretty nice bro
58 has a nice laxed out jazzy feel this song has really good progression

Brisance
like i said my internets been pretty dodgy and downloadings been abit of a mission ill get back to you on this one

Rendr
epic percussion bro the drum programming is fucking sick. has some nice pads in the background

Legendary
i like the drums and the pads really good bass drum and snare. the stutter bit is really cool.

Zillion
no love has really nice elements to it and a sweet sample i like the proggresion. i like the crazy mixed up feel of this song

-Dubson-
apollo has some nice progression i think it needs abit more variation though

sterling
scorchio has some really good synths at the start i like the way everything builds up and merges in
lost and found also has really nice progression i like the bass in this one better than scorchio dw your tunes arent shit i had a feedback problem to thats why i started the thread :D

well i hope i covered everyone if not hit me up!!! i thought i might direct you guys to this track on my virb called Smoke Water Riddim (its on my sig). i already posted it in the dubs section but hey when is a track ever finished? lol

Apologies for my delay.

In Scorchio I can definitely hear a DnB / Techno influence. I like the sounds, but I seemed to lose interest in it. I think the main synth line works great for a build up but it needs a release of some kind to get into a different synth pattern, deep bass, something.

Lost and Found feels more put together to me. I like the pads and chorus stuff, and the bass is nice from what I can tell on my ear buds at work. The pads & chorus stuff do feel like they sit on top of the track instead of in it, maybe adjust the levels, compress them together, or side chain them to bring them down into the mix with the rest of the elements?

Overall I think you are probably in a better place then me production wise :)

I like the vibes, but it is very minimal & feels very slow which would make it hard to mix in a set, not sure if that concerns you. I like minimal though :D. I agree that the percussion feels somewhat tinny, and wide. With some variation, and reworking of the drums/perc this could be very good.

minimal stuff! i like it it does seem rather slow though,

like the effects and stuff, dunno would maybe like it if it built up into something though with faster paced drums or something.

can't comment on the mix becuase im on headphones with messed up drivers :-/ and myspace ruins quality!

Any feedback pon this track would be awesome.

http://www.mediafire.com/?yx13z3txqme

Its a techo/chippy/dark track.

I allready know certain bits that need working on - but as with everything the more advice you get the better - so has anyone got any thoughts so to where i can go next, or anything that needs changing.

Cheers.

I feel like I am improving each week, but it seems like each tune is a different style due to whichever sound has inspired me when I start each tune.

Any feedback on Sleep Deprived which I just finished last night, or additional comments on Computer Music would be appreciated greatly.

THANKS for all of the comments that I have received so far.

I like fatal error, that bass sound is cool. It gets a bit repetitive, but the sound is great. Keep working on this one for sure.

What are you using for the bass sounds in this tune?
