this would be a step forward in music, but it wouldn't be dubstep.

not that there's anything wrong with that. :)

I don't think dubstep is all about the half step and wobble myself I mean I think there are many branches coming out of the trunk right now that are pretty good. Not many people like all of them. The stuff that gets played out the most is the lowest common denominator. I think all you can really do is branch out on your own if you are creative enough to do so. Been trying to change my style up a bit myself. Getting a little stuck with it tho. Going back to the early sound when it was just breaking off from 2-step and garage and the breakstep stuff. I hear things like that out now but I am not sure they capture the vibe I got from the earlier stuff. The vibe is what I am after. Like a rewind and play from the top again.

I think you have a point tho that I hear a lot of people talking about. Anytime you hear a new wobbler they don't seem all that different from ones you already have in the bag so why bother?

I'm working on halftime tropical house, just as a break in tempo in my sets

it's possible that funky will get really wobbly and/or agro in the near and the thought keeps me up at night

let's all move away from the strictly halfstep and into a world of more choppage, more twisted, and dare i say it, slightly busier beats :ghost:
Elemental, Boxcutter, Urban Graffiti, Pitch Black/Destructive label to name but a few
all been purveyors of a breakstep ideology back when Dubstep was in it's' infancy

i definitely agree with dubstep being a lot more abstract a concept than it would seem at first, and i am very excited to see where it goes. and yes, i agree you can't just get a bunch of people together and say 'what's next' but hey, i am just some dude drunkenly posting on a messageboard after all ;)

all i'm saying is that we should keep it interesting... shit gets boring/played quick these days.

lots of love

more triplets are required. entire songs skipping along in 3's. :D

personally I like the funkier, cosmic disco styles but I am getting a bit middle aged. less of the stadium-core metal grind for me pls.

and more glitch hop/trip hop like the tune in my sig!

we need people grunting the wobbles instead of using computer programs.

^ I like this statement right here.

Was always/still am a big fan of the neuro sounds of all those mentioned artists. Been feeling the newer deeper style dub also that I first heard in 04'/05'. The production quality and variety has gotten way bigger so we're bound to hear something around the corner that's fresh and exciting.

Keysound Recordings and those who have their ears in the true essence of the underground will tell you the future lies with firmly in the hands of LHF + Vibezin..if any crew out there can test these guy's on output, originality or style i am yet to find them.

Check this list of studio and radio mixes i found on an LHF FB group,Who are the "Keepers of the Light" ?

http://www.facebook.com/?sk=2361831622# ... 3822987445

All mixes are composed of their unreleased material over the last 2/3 yrs and you get the picture..they've even got enough dub's to run weekly hr long set's 2nd hr of the United Vibes show on Sub FM and have tunes to spare - i rest my case :!:
