just make sure he is set up properly
The padkontrol is also rediculously easy to setup and incredibly intuitive. not sure what the akai's are like but I borrowed a friends M-audio axiom which made no sense whatsoever.

Anyone know if there is a pc alternative to farmpad (I noticed that a pc version is planned)?

The pad Kontrol looks really good, I want it for live play and production because I want to try something else rather than just spinning records, nearly payday so Ill probably shell out

You'll realise the padkontrol is head and shoulders above anything that will probably come out for a long time, including NI Maschine and MOTU BPM.

With farmpad, you can make any button/knob/xy control correspond to any control on anything that responds to midi. This means infinite possibilities for live play, but also means if you use something like Guru, you can fully control it like an mpc. So far i've used it to produce mouseless, DJ with ableton live, construct a 100% live set in conjunction with a keyboard, and use it as a step sequencer. But as I say, anything you want to be done with midi can be done, it's really as easy as reading the farmpad readme.

sick. I'm gonna have to peep.

Funny, cause I just plugged my padkontrol back in after it was sitting on my shelf for the last year.. just wanted a control surface to be able to trigger air horn samples at will in my bedroom - ended up jamming quite a bit on it. Didn't ever quite figure out what the buttons on it do tho, kinda just like having a fukabout on the pads..

My only complaint about these things is that they are very light and sometimes shimmy around if you play them too roughly.

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.
