Ha ha! This is exactly what mine says "where's all the vocals".

At this point I generally turn up the sub bass and she runs out the room!

She does support my music though, and as she's studying for the next 2 weeks, I'm holed up in the Stu-Dee-I-Oh for the foreseeable!

If music is your undying passion I think its a major deal breaker in long term commitment whether she'll support you etc. My girls the tits when it comes to gigs etc. always getting her big circle of mates to come out even though they hate the music. Pre warned her that my laptop comes first when we started seeing each other, gets jealous everyonce in a while like but Americanized latina's FTW in my book.

Speaking of the ganj too any of you be skint and sober and sit there for hours not going in any direction? I'll sit there sober as a judge with like 15 totally different drum/bass/synth loops and i'm totally puzzled about piecing it together, wee spliff then bam! 20 mins later you've got some quality shiz cooked up.

Maybe just me...

theres a balance though, a little bit of green gets the creative juices flowing better, but too much and i end up tweaking shit forever and getting nothing done.

nah mate im the exact same, i got back from work last night thinking "right ive got friday off, i can sit and do tunes" loaded up a session ive been working on and just looked at it playing the tune over and over with no inspiration coming to me whatsoever - went for a cheeky joint once i picked up off my pal and as soon as i sat down by my computer i was back on top form. Think you need to be chonged to enjoy sitting moving little blocks around a screen for hours on end giving your spacebar a good workout.

Somewhat sad its that way. I was great at Tetris as a kid while sober. Whyy not now with the more modern blocks. Sober, I am as creative as an unsharpened HB pencil

I said something about weed on here and it got to like 20 pages, maybe more.

We are not alone.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Think I must be on my own then, as I gave up the weed years back!

Still have the occasional smoke every now and then, and I do miss it when I'm writing tracks, but health comes before the Sensi these days!!!

I too will be trying to finish my first dubstep track this weekend hopefully. I was supposed to go snowboarding since this is closing weekend, but it's fuckin raining. Got me a nice ball of bubble hash, and with any luck the misses will leave the house so I can smoke and crank bass.

Woot!

Well for me it's gonna be: Go to the driving range after work because it's nice as shit out, do some website work, maybe work on some tunes, sleep, work a half a day on Saturday, finish the web work I was doing at home, then it's tunes time. Unless it's super nice Saturday, then I'll probably go skateboard for a few. But THEN it's bassline time.

8)

Is it the weekend??? :o

I feel sorry for all those who are employed by others. Your time and ass is 0WN3D!!!! -w-

Self employment for the win. I get up when I feel ready to be awake, and do work when I'm ready to work (sometimes at 3am haha)! :)

Every day is a weekend for me, but at the same time, every day is a work day too. The only problem is, all the days roll into one, so I get ready to go to the post office and realise it's a Sunday! Image

16 minutes left *bite nails*

Then off to a party with a friend I used to perform with.

For the remainder of the weekend I am thinking about loading up the sampler and heading out into the desert to work on some new material for my next gig.

cheers

Yeah tons of open desert around these parts. Waiting for the woods to thaw a bit before heading out into the forest.

Developed a softspot for working on ideas away from civilization when I got a battery powered sampler. Makes me really want a laptop

Nothing like working on stuff 100 miles from the civilized world
Sitting by a campfire with a head full and just exploring sounds and then realizing the sun is coming up ... joy!:)

Coffee is beyond crucial for my creative process!

yeah that'll be later this summer :)

Got a generator and decent outdoor PA already (really need more low end tho.) So ima set it up and just rock the fuck out and give random folks like 4 hrs notice. If they show up great! ... if not I'll just work on stuff at full volume lol
