I think it's a bit weird watching a video of people intently sitting in chairs taking notes, listening to excerpts of garage for critical academic survey

clearly she'd been told that in the context of red bull academy the interview should 'teach kids how to become dubstep celebrities' - but this interviewer saw it as a careers talk which makes it even more reprehensible, instead of actually doing abit of research and talking to skream about MUSIC.

yeah, we watched the same interview. It's often pretty awkward, both for interviewer and interviewee, to go about asking about a style or creative process that isn't really based in language to begin with. Her questions were the basic kinds of questions most musicians get asked in interviews like, for example, your average drum and bass interview in knowledge mag. I don't think her interview was great, but you all seem to criticize her without really offering what you would ask instead. The standard, and reasonable questions of interest have to do with: how one got started, what inspired them, etc.

kind of sat am kids tv standard of questions tho. stopped jus short of 'what's your favourite colour, then?' levels of generality. only seen this and the kode 9 one tho, so not sure if this jus the reguar red bull std. but the kode 9 guy was much better - discussions about dangers of building all tunes round a drop etc - much more sophisticated.

Thanks for chipping in on this and sorry for my part in the slagging. The problem is that we're always likely to give the ninth degree on stuff like this because we are so into it. So you catering to your (live) audience and not us was obviously for the best.

answered alot of question i wanted to know. yeah there was the odd thing i knew already but hey, if i knew nothing about the sound i would def have come away from that wanting to know more!
