Re: Write A Album In February Who Is With Me???
I really like that track fragments! Nice percussion and bassline. I've done a couple around 120 for this as well actually. It's nice for some chilled stuff sometimes.
Just got my final track done. BUT, I haven't done number 13 yet so I still have that to do. I just wasn't feeling inspiration for that one so went on to number 14 and got that done first.
Here it is anyway; http://fawm.org/songs/18426/

Thanks man, appreciate the feed back. I've been concentrating on percussion and bass so it's great to hear those are sounding good.
Yea, for sure! There are a lot of "uncommon" BPMs that make for cool tracks. I did several of my tunes for FAWM around 136-38. I get why producers stay with these strict tempos that define their genre(s), but seriously...I'm not an awesome DJ or probably even a good one, but it's not THAT hard to mix say 136 tune and a 140 tune.

I made exclusively 128 for a while, as I'm moving away from dubstep and more into garage I was trying to find the sweet spot but now I've settled at around 136/137. Fast enough to be played with dubstep tracks but slow enough to mix with garage. When I make IDM for my side project though I jump around all sorts of tempos and time sigs. It's a lot of fun being able to let go of the idea of being able to mix something and just making what flows naturally.
Re: Write A Album In February Who Is With Me???
Currently got a folder of about 20 project files, most utter nonsense.
I've just gone through and sent 9 to the 'finished' folder though, admittedly that does include intro, outro and two interlude pieces hahaha. I pretty much stopped working on this for 2 weeks, mainly cos in the first week the stuff I was making was wank. In the last week though I've been really driven and managed to notch up my workrate.
Need to do some uploading aswell...

Makes sense. I mean...in the back of my mind there is certainly a desire to get some stuff released professionally and hopefully that means pressed to vinyl. But, there is also a strong will to just make the music I want to make and not worry about the fact that if I don't work within certain restrictions (typical structure, BPMs, sounds etc) it's probably not getting pressed let alone spun. But again, making a version of your vision come to life within those restrictions could be satisfying as well.
That has been the nice thing about FAWM, saying fuck it, I'm just gonna to make some bass music.

probably less than half the tracks I did for this are of decent quality to be honest but there were a couple of gems and I really enjoyed the experience. How far are you with it?

Re: Write A Album In February Who Is With Me???
I'm definitely not finishing this year. 8 songs overall but I had a shit load of other stuff to do/on my mind.
I throw my towel in.

Yea, I only got 9 done. Which I'm pretty stoked about personally. I mean, I don't think I've ever gotten as far as I did with that many songs in a month before.
