Apparently there's some way to making power out of the 7.8Hz field the earth is bathed in. Conspiracy theories abound but Tesla was also rumoured to have come up with some mega-efficient concepts that got bought and locked away... I just heard that there has been another earthquake in Japan but it doesnt sound as serious.

10m is pretty shallow but they would have hardly felt it 200 kilometres from the coast
