Got a feeling it wont be for awhile.

Anyone ever think that maybe this could possibly be the mysterious 050? I know it doesn't seem probable, but.....you never know right?

Well it was supposed to get released in February but that obviously didn't happen so I don't know now...

Oh and I highly doubt that this album is getting released on Deep Medi btw, since it was a project along with Gilles Peterson. My guess is that it'll come out on a somewhat bigger label.

They`ll build more hype before releasing this imo.

Like I said earlier in the thread, when I talked to Mala about a month and a half ago he said they were just starting on doing the mixdowns.
He said he had been unsatisfied with the way some of the tunes had turned out so he went back and started from scratch on a few of them, IIRC.
Knowing Mala this will probably happen a few more times before he's completely confident in the tunes.

So yeah, might be a while longer..

The LPs on Medi are catalogued differently though, eg MEIDILP001... the usual numbers (e.g. MEDI001) are used for singles and EPs... wouldn't surprise me if Cuba Electronica was released as a standalone single though (as a kind of 'album sampler' in the same way that Air Breaker was), so maybe that will be 050... although as someone else pointed out, there's a possibility this album will be released on Brownswood.

I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that it's gonna come out on Brownswood. It was after all Gilles Peterson who "commissioned" the album, so to speak.

But I guess you never know with these things. Just saying it's probably pretty unlikely it will come out on Deep Medi, even more so for it to be MEDI050.

Just for those wondering, Mala did drop Cuban Electronica at SYSTEM in April. And fair to say, it's amazing! :corndance:

Ahhh, you're right, didn't even think of that.

I don't really know why a couple months ago people thought this was coming so soon. I doubt it will be until late this year.

Because that's what was stated when the news of the album first broke

I wasn't the biggest fan of Cuba Electronica (haven't heard it on a system though), so I didn't think I'd like this and I didn't like the start, but I was feeling it a lot by the end of the track.
