how does actress get his sound? kind of lo-fi and noisy, but not

I too would like to know more about this sound... It's kinda hard to zero in on what sound exactly, its more like the ambience surrounding and background chords. It just sounds rough.

Take 'Lost' for example



The bass sounds really lo fi, what would an effect chain be like for this and what's a good distortion plugin (preferably free) to achieve a lo fi sound. I'm running ableton, and havent been able to find any distortion tool that I like. Redux ain't doin it for me

Hey fam, how can I make my basslines sound like this using massive?? Any additional filters I may need? It's like a bassline with a duck sound haha it sounds epic.
