Re: Syria: War Starting Thursday?
Seriously dude. I couldn't tell you how many stupid fucking privates(noobs) ive had to whip into shape. These kids go into the Army thinking that they're going to go to another country and fuck shit up. Really they end up at the f.o.b on guard duty which will bore you to death. We actually called them fobbits. Or they would pass the wire and get fucking hit by an I.e.d. I used to tell my squad to leave the cocky American shit at the door and survive.dubunked wrote:And a lot more old Americans too. I call it 'murica syndrome. They are born a "clean slate", grow up in America and unknowingly make jokes about our arrogance and false invincibility. The word 'murica comes from that Team America World Police song, which is totally making fun of America's attitude towards the rest of the world. People however embrace the arrogance and repeat the "murica" joke so many times that it starts to become their actual ideology. Not only do they become arrogant, but they are aware of how arrogant they are and they embrace it. They think they are entitled to be arrogant, because they're 'muricans - the greatest people in the world.Devilsindub wrote:It's cool man I don't blame you for expecting that kind of attitude. Unfortunately there are a lot of young Americans that have the cocky we're unstoppable attitude. When you actually live the war you definitely know that every man is vulnerable and can lose his life in an instant. America is not invinsable like everybody thinks. We have very capable soldiers but we have taken our beatings.
By the time they're 30-40, the mindset has become so cemented that they become hardcore conservatives, infatuated with guns and war, the exact thing that they used to make fun of when they made the "murica" joke. I've seen it happen to several of my friends. It's a very sad
condition.

Yeah there were a couple of bickering matches. But I don't think enough to turn people off to it. I guess people find it to be important enough to keep it going.Terpit wrote:I can't believe this thread is still here, I'm sure I saw some people slightly disagreeing a few pages back

Re: Syria: War Starting Thursday?
That article actually goes on about Hiroshima... Honestly, if you think 'Washington' is covering up ww2 bombings you are losing the plot.
Oh thanks 'Policymic', I didn't know the US used napalm on numerous occasions.. let us take a moment to think about that
while thousands are dying in Syria.
To be honest, I think not taking action might be the way to go, but let's get real for a moment.
Not enough people are talking about what's actually happening and too many people are talking about ''what's really going on...''.

Re: Syria: War Starting Thursday?
I find it weird that no one is talking about WHY or HOW he used the chemical weapons. All of the fuss is about who he used them on and what the US is going to do and whether or not they will retaliate yadayadayada. Why aren't they talking about WHY he used them? What, he just randomly woke up one day and was like "I feel like killing 1400 people with these weird chemicals that I've got in my back pocket..." Seriously. Where did he get em, why is he using them, what is the point of using them? This is the fishiest part of the whole thing if you ask me (that no one is reporting this side of the story).

People are talking about the how and why if you look beyond government voices, even mainstream media isn't espousing one particular view

Re: Syria: War Starting Thursday?
The USA is the worst for using unconventional weapons. They've never said sorry for nuking Japan; you should read the letters in the Hiroshima peace museum between USA officers that flat out state it's not to make them surrender in itself, just to make sure Russia doesn't get to to the main islands first (they were set to land on the main one closest to Siberia within days). The USA forces were aiming for maximum damage to cause a statement about their capabilities to the USSR, that is also stated. The Japanese would have surrendered, nukes or not, and were apparently already in secret talks (which I cannot find under all the probable propaganda repeated everywhere). These letters are openly displayed and children in primary school go to see the truth about the whole thing. They're not covering up the bombings any more, just letting the propaganda lingerAxeD wrote:That article actually goes on about Hiroshima...
