Yeah i kept looking for things in the background, i half expected to see something in the dog's eye or a faint outline at the end of the cave. I didn't like being able to see that rock either, even though i knew it was all fake.

I used to live in a house with three other people, that we later found out was where the nuns from the boarding school next door lived. It was a creepy old house but I never bought into all that stuff much. Anyway, after a few months of living there we were all sitting in the lounge down stairs, when the two who slept downstairs asked which of us upstairs gets up in the middle of the night all the time. We both answered that it was neither of us when we all heard footsteps on the stairs, clear as a bell. It happened regularly after that. Things also went missing all the time, particularly anything 'unsavoury' - like porn etc.

The icing on the cake though was one night I had a friend over. I walked into the kitchen and they asked me what I was doing outside. I told them I hadn't been anywhere but she was certain she saw someone walk past the window. I took her outside and showed her that to see someone walk past that window they'd have to be 10 foot tall thanks to a drop in the ground. I really don't miss that house.

This is all pure dangerous bollox, you posted this months ago and I responded and got nothing back so I won't bother waffling again because it seems pointless (I work on HIV/AIDS projects in Africa)....I just hope no-one reads your post or looks at this and is impressionable enough to believe it....ghost and alien/conspiracy talk is one thing and all harmless enough but to be saying HIV can't be contracted sexually and AIDS is caused by the drugs to treat HIV is just dangerous and untrue.

It's hardly dangerous to question a hypothesis that can quite easily be argued against. It's also not conspiracy nerds that are questioning Gallo's somewhat flawed hypothesis but respected and highly qualified doctors, virologist and biologists. I would argue that your experience of working on projects however admirable is no match for the expertise of the members of the Rethinking AIDS group.

It is quite obvious that toxic drugs such as AZT will batter your immune system and I don't think anyone involved in questioning the HIV/AIDS dogma is suggesting people shouldn't practice safe sex or share needles.

Part of the reason we have to use these incredibly strong, and sometimes toxic drugs, is because of the general lack of research being done.

Where is HIV/AIDS most prevalent? Who are the peoples most affected by it? Would you say that it is in general wealthy westeners, or the impoverished in 3rd world and sub-saharan countries?

We put far more money into researching conditions more prevalent in the west, as these are the big money makers for the pharmacutical companies. The majority of people who would need HIV/AIDS drugs, simply cannot afford them, so there is no real money to be made.

Cancer, Obesity, Heart Disease.... these are all pevalent western conditions and reasearched FAR more intensely and the relative amounts spent on looking into these conditions is far greater.

Talk about aliens or whatever is relatively harmless, but please, stop spreading this false information as the reprocussions are incredibly serious and harmful.

Well I'm assuming your an intellegent fella and don't beleive in any sort of afterlife. Look at it like this there are no ghosts because there is no afterlife and no master creator. However I know to you this feels incredibly real like the scratches on your back or the voices you have heard. But many many times I beleive I have heard things that have had a simple explanation. Remember if the brain lacks information it fills the gaps thus creating a gust of wind to sound like a childs voice. Just remeber ghost are way too ffarfetched to exsist. Until science says so then I'l retract everything I have said lol

I used to also hang around in an abandoned house. We used to hear footsteps like the ones you described more like running that came from above us. Anyway have you ever heard rats? Loud bastards like elephants thats what I assume made the noises I heard.

Another time when we were walking into the building we hear something hit a metal radiator which caused it to resonate throughout the house. We went throught the house and found noone. Who knows what that noise came from cudda been something dropping on it. Or air moving through it. But these experiences have a logical explanation. to which I don't know. What i do know is ghosts dont exsist

I haven't replied to this as of yet because I am quite ambivalent about the whole thing. Some weird shit has happened to me that has had no explanation and it was in an old psychiatric hospital (St. Georges, Morpeth) - it's not a place I was ever afraid of, when it was a fully functioning hospital my dad worked there as a quack in the seventies and eighties, and was given a house on the hospital grounds. So to cut a long story short, it's an environment I was used to and probably knew better than many people. So when it came to my turn to work there the hospital was in the process of closing down. Here's some photos:















Anyway, I worked there for a bit as an NA when I fancied going into mental health and following my father's footsteps... but nah, I never bothered. But when I was working there I'd have to walk around the derelict parts pictured, with a torch and do a fire check - this had to be done twice a day for some reason. And I heard some fucking spooky stuff and thought I saw some things.

The best stories though come from father, and he swears on his life they're true and my mum says in 40 years of marriage she knows when he is telling the truth and she reckons he did see something.

Not going to go into the details because it's just another spooky story of seeing and hearing stuff with no explanation. It happens. My own personal theory is that there's no such thing as ghosts but there's certainly something that has yet to be explained out there. I am not saying it's ghosts or what, but there's places on this earth that are just fucking spooky and you don't know why. I bet everyone here has been in a house or a room or even a place that has had a really funny, sinister feeling about but with no explanation as to why.

I am canny young but I am lucky enough to have done all kinds of stuff and done many jobs (I have to trim my CV ) but none was so "interesting" as working in an old victorian psych hospital. Fucking WEIRD.

hey firky, why not share your dad's story? i think most of us enjoy these stories whether theres evidence or not.

i try to avoid beliefs, but i tend to think there must be energy that is not properly situated. if these energies are to be anywhere then institutions such as hospitals and prisons where negative things went down seems more likely.

ive explored some abandoned buildings, but id be hesitant to jump into hospitals and the like.
