I go to the line ups with the DJs i like, I buy the vinyl i like, i talk to my girl mates about the new tune im really into etc. This opinion that women are just passive and have no taste in good music is one i hear all the time and i find it so frustrating.

Dubstep forum is like a little boys club sometimes. If i remember rightly after the last why not? night the thread was full of bitching about how the girls were all jail bait and stupid slags who were too fucked on pills. And after a FWD night there was all this bitching about how there were too many girls who kept pushing past you all night? I don't get it?
This one. Girls are not some cattle you can just herd around. Girls reading stuff like this thread and thinking that there are no other girls might be a bit shy to come around. Please, pay no attention to threads like these, there ARE girls at the dubstep parties.

The vibes at dubstep nights are generally amazing...the people are safe and friendly it makes such a change to other nights you go out to. You don't have to many wasters falling all over you and grabbing your arse, theres a bit more respect for personal space and i like that. Everyones always yarping on about how progressive dubstep is so why don't you start showing it on this forum and show the ladies some love and make us feel welcome. At the end of the day i go for the music!! And i love all that dark paranoid stuff always have always will.
Yup.

And to all the peeps saying women don't get the music, or get into it later than guys, or only listen to pop crap.

Seriously. Eat a dick.
Here, have a free tune:

That was me that brought that up. It was simply an observation and comment of what seemed to be going on, which was that bunches of girls kept pushing to the front AND leaving after 5 minutes. As opposed to the bunches of guys AND GIRLS who didn't push to get to the front but instead made their way there standardly politely (and who may or may not have left after 5 minutes). It's a club night and yeah people will push at some point or other. But shoving to get to the front in FWD was such a rare thing that I'd thought I could mention it.

There's a slight difference between bitching and commentary. And not every comment by men pertaining to women should be assumed to be sexist in nature. In fact, I feel slightly insulted that I'd be in any way considered sexist. Had it been little boys who'd been shoving in and out, I would've made the same comment. However, they weren't. And so I couldn't.

Oh and "all this bitching"? If I remember correctly, there were all of *two* posts about it: Me mentioning it, and someone agreeing that they noticed the same.

It's sexist to feel insulted when pulled up on your sexism. Take it on board, stop and think about what you are saying and doing. All men are sexist. Under the class society we live in sexism is everywhere, that's the objective reality. As men it is our responsibility to do everything in our power to subjectively combat sexism everywhere and in every situation. This means not taking offence or getting your back up when somebody especially a woman points out your sexist behavior.

This forum is a fucking boys club and I wish men on here would stop treating women with such disrespect. Case in point: to presume women don't come to dubstep nights because of excess wobble midbass is bullshit. To presume women only go for chilled out "deep" tunes is dismissive and sexist.
No disrespect to any ladies on here but the majority of girls follow the crowd, if dubstep gets more popular there'll be more birds. Blokes tend to look into music more than wimmin.
I'm for banning the twat who said this^^ seriously, you are a sexist fucktard. Somebody headbut this guy in the dance please.

Pull yer fucking heads in.

you are so very wrong...unless your city just sucks!

Most women in canada (at least Toronto) dance, whine their bodies and get DOWN!! Bassface and all. 9/10 times I go out it's the women moving ALL night while the men mostly stand around

Sheeeeit dubstep turns women on!! Well myself and my girls!! we feel it in our bodies! "O" face.....

Again, sucks for you

Didn't really want to comment on this thread but heres my 2 cents.

A few comments say girls don't get the music is crazy as i know got a few girls who go to Dubstep events on a regular basis.

After seeing this thread i spoke to a few girls yesterday and today about why there isn't that many girls in the raves and spoke to a few girls who go to house & garage events and the simple answer was because of the crowd when girls go out they make the effort and the expect the guys to do the same.

One simply said when ever shes gone to a drum and bass rave or dubstep its full indie kids high on drugs in there scruffy jeans which is sort of a put off as when girls go out they make an effort, they don't mind the guys rocking hooded tops as long as they make an effort (have a shower).

From what i got told by the nice ladies today its a 50/50 thing they make the effort to go out and have a good time so should the guy's

lol that is a fair point.

there is definately a difference in dress and attitude towards how u look. you dont see many guys cumin in shirts to dubstep raves lol.....

generally ye its much more casual and relaxed, but that doesnt mean just cos people dont dress up really smart that they cant be presentable. people who do come looking scruffy are just using the relaxed attitude towards casual dress to tie in with their own attitude towards appearance. thats just their own mentality on the subject, nuffin to do with any collective thinking. its nt as if there is peer pressure to make sure u look scruffy.

the thing is tho, with raves where u will be skankin all night and probably gettin sweaty, casual clothing is usually more comfortable so its an obvious choice. comfy footwear aswell is definately needed, so smart shoes and high heels are out the window. the casual dress is just a result of going to a place to "rave".

etc...

i think in the end it just comes down to..... wanting to look your best VS wanting to rave.

Quite a few birds out there when I go to Dubstep nights. A 7:3 ratio, granted, but it's still quite good.

Not that I care, anyway; Women are nothing but life support for a pussy.

Yup i have to agree with what has been said here.

There is a time and a place to get all dressed up in a pretty little dress and high heels, and a rave is not that place!

People go to raves to listen to good music, not to find random next man/gash to get with.
I don't really give a s*** if there's bare girls in a rave or not. It doesn't affect me and my friends who DO genuinly care for the music, or anyone else that does for that matter. If there arn't many girls at dubstep raves where you are, it's 'cos they just don't like dubstep. It's all a matter of opinion, and you can't force someone to like something.

IMO dubstep is a real aquired sound to get into, and although it didn't take me long before i was hooked it will take others longer to appreciate what this genre has to offer. Give it time.

Or just come to Bristol :D: Pretty much every dubstep night is rammo with gyalies.

HERES A THOUGHT: rather than the girls not feeling the music - maybe they dont rate the men? Or even worse - maybe the reason why some dances are full of men is cos the men in them don't know how to approach women and therefore have none to bring with them.
