idk why but ff7 comes to mind on this. u should bring up the percussions just a bit and overall it sounds nice
lol it's the strings + industrial sounds.

hihat that's panned to the left down about 2 db please (add some reverb/more reverb too, very dry)
snare is dull and too quiet, high shelf boost/layer with a clap and raise about 2/3 db
again kick is too low, needs more bite and to come up a few db in the mix (not too much though)

@BatRobin - finally some feedback bro nice one, crit given where crit is due

-kick sounds familiar is it from a reason kit? (dub kit?)
-I like the minimal style, you will need other samples/one hits in there though to keep it interesting
-Snare sounds a little dry / in your face for the style. I'd but that further back (reverb/lowpass filter) right volume though don't get me wrong.
-Sub is a bit repetitive, switch that up man
-Just read it's in it's early stage, i'd add some lead stabs on the offbeats

2 Tracks I've lost focus on. Any ideas, or thoughts? I never really get much feedback on Youtube
Complete amatuer, with no real idea when it comes to mixdowns, etc...

The downtempo/mellow one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwqLVvK_AVI
&
The darker one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-41-LaZzL8c

Sup guys,

Working on this track trying to get the core basics of it done. Soundcloud
Anything specific in it that sounds bad? I know the bassline is pretty busy... and I like busy stuff to a certain extent, but is it TOO busy? Constructive criticism very much welcomed.

Cheers.

Yo qlus,

The general sound and melodies are quite nice. Like how the asianesque sample integrates, although in some parts it does sound a bit too reverbed/delayed.
The closed hi-hat needs to be a little more varied perhaps. Either with different velocities or switch it up with two different hihats that sound relatively similar. They sound a bit regimented and flat at the moment.
Seems like it's missing something 'wispy'. Haha. I can imagine a nice rising/falling airy synth or some modulated filtered noise phasing around. Might make it sound a bit more dynamic. Just throwing ideas around.

Yeah man i like the textures in the intro.

The vocals were a bit too drowned out with delay imo. the only bad thing i have to say!
I like it

Yeah man, this is deep.can imagine it would make a great intro to a set.

The tech stabs are nice, but to be honest i think the drop could have more impact. Like it tho.

Cheers... Slowly going to get round to finish it at some point, yeah.
But the Bass and Violin? Both samples that I've cut up and pitched up & down. The bass is actually long, drawn-out bell being hit by a monk, if I remember rightly, haha
