and after years of hype - I have finally started with...
Call of the Cthulu and Other Weird Stories - H.P. Lovecraft

Just finished that. Had some great one liners to think about.
I read this recently too, enjoyed it alot.
I just read On Being by Peter Atkins, fairly shit all round tbh.
Its not got alot at all to do with 'being' and the author comes across as a pretentious prick.
+1 for "House of Leaves". Brilliant book. Paired up with "The Whalestoe Letters" it's just unbelievable. Those two are the books that got me back into reading. It was something insanely fresh for me. Check out his other book "Only Revolutions." At first I couldn't get into it, but in the right mindset it's a glorious book.
Lately I've been on a Jose Saramago binge. He has a fresh pessimism that keeps me interested. But he also brings up ideas and motifs that blow me away every time I read one of his books. For him my favourite is "The Cave." Although slow, it's actually an amazing book. It goes from gentle to violent irony in just a few pages... a true masterpiece!
yeah it wasnt what i was expecting at all, i didnt really know anything about it before i bought it. wasnt expecting it to be that daaarrk!
read The Old Man and The Sea cover to cover last night as i couldn't sleep now i am fucking nackered and have work in an hour

^^^^^^ yes mate! American Psycho is the one...well Bret Easton Ellis is in general! Read Glamorama next (you might need to read it twice) and make sure you check Less Than Zero (my favourite), Rules of Attraction, Lunar Park, The Informers as well all fucking classic
