Think he is wanting Mala to repress it, I really hate the idea of buying medi releases on discogs since it could easily get repressed.

Yeah I was requesting a repress.. I too don't like paying too much as they do tend to get repressed.. VIVEK feel it EP was a surprise one. I'd be surprised if 001/002 did though. Really want Stand / Eden, discog prices atm are silly.

Maybe it will get repressed if Quest's album ever comes out

i actually prefer them to focus on pushing out new records instead of wasting too much time and money on repressing old ones.

I'd agree if the choice was one or the other, Medi are more than capable of doing both. Not many labels release at the pace Medi do.
If anything Mala going to Cuba for ages and building an album would have more effect on new records coming out but that didn't seem to slow them down at all. Represses ain't a problem for Medi.

first of, he wasn't there for ages but only for a few weeks, right? second, i guess he gets a lot of help from his label partner (can't remember the name).
i really don't know how much effort it takes to repress a record compared to releasing it for the first time, but then again i don't understand why vinyl releases take so much time in the first place.
my point is many of the tunes that were mentioned above have been available for weeks and months. take that Mark Pritchard release: i got a brand new copy a few weeks back from an online store. maybe i was lucky, but i'm pretty sure i saw that for sale in other shops as well until recently. so why would you repress a record that has been sitting on the shelves for 3 years? a quick look on discogs tells you: sold 8 times this year and goes for an average price of 8-10 euro. so it's neither hard to get, nor is it overpriced. marked value is defined by sales not by (unrealistic) offers. just be patient and you will eventually get it for a good deal. worst thing you can do is jump on these stupid prices and help pushing them.
in the end we all know vinyl's always limited. if it takes you months to consider wether to buy a record or not, you know you're taking the risk.

Dunno how long he was there but including the time it took to actually make the album, + all the tunes we've not heard, I assume it took a long time. I was just saying I assume him being away for so long is more of a hindrance to newer releases than represses are.
I agree in respect to the Mark Pritchard release, dunno why the only ones on discogs are priced like that. Releases like Quest - Stand / Eden and Skream - The Shinein / Backwards could do with a repress though.

How many times can you repress one record though? I understand there is still a demand for these older releases but Stand / Eden and Elephant Dub have both already been repressed. They'd have to ensure if they were repressed they'd still get picked up by all the usual distros. I understand that it's nice for records to be available when you want to buy them but labels don't have endless money to repress everything as often as possible

wtf is wrong with the prices for Babylon Fall EP on discogs?
this discussion finally convinced me to pick it up. got it with SPMC's Hunted for £26 at a local who had it still in stock.
standard prices where I'm from, so it's cool.
