@Cheeky simply awesome mate, great work with that main synth :D
@Ematyael im feeling that melody, almost sounds arabian tbh, but yeah you went a bit too far on the robot voice from 3:26 to like 3:50. if you added some more sounds and fixed everything up it could really come to life :D dont let that melody go to waste!
@ninthy4 deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, love that metallic snare as well

heres one ive been working on, planning on adding more sub bass though, i think it needs it :P

@Cheeky
Im not a massive fan of midrange, but this is so sick, reminds me of 'Coki - Goblin' with the crazy modulation but it has a more to the grid feel than that track which i like, also the second bass synth that comes in is so fucked up it sounds like its speaking, saying something along the lines of 'Dry Eyes' haha i love it ! more people should make midrange like this thats still sinister without the farting noises and porno screams. Only thing i would say is keep the sub in at the outro but that is just a matter of preferance of course.

@Emytael
Great melodies, however the one at 1:48 is kinda loud, you should turn that down a little.

@Ruckr23
If this is your first song that is a great intro ! alot better than my first attempts, the first problem i noticed with your track is the snare, it has a nice sound to it but it needs that low end punch, you should layer it with another sample with some lower midrange content to bring it forward in the mix, also dont forget when making 'dubstep' your drop is where everything should come together fully and the listener should be fully engaged, i didnt feel that with the drop on this, it felt like another intro because of the simplistic wobble, it needs more notes or change in modulation to keep interest.

Heres my WIP, no mixing, compression or EQ has taken place so far, just composition so try to give feedback on that please, went for a kind of Gemmy/Joker feel on this one.

@I Am Cook Really liked it at the start, drums felt groovier, but seems to lose a bit of direction and movement later on. Maybe it's deliberate but bit much for me personally. Loved the tuning the radio bit at the start (assuming that's what it was meant to emulate haha).

@Ematyael with the exception of the yoi yoi yoi bit, this is pretty nice. Chilled but still dark & interesting. Maybe slightly more variation other than just using a different sound, i.e. use a few more variations here and there. But then, I'm not that great arrangement myself aha.

@Ruckr23 Dig this, well impressive for a first track. Maybe suggest layering the snare as it sounds too much like just white noise, kick it a bit more low end punch.

Had been working on this for a few weeks a while back then got tired of it; opened it up this morning and rewrote everything but the beat haha. Had some trouble getting the hats/shakers to sit right with the snare, think the pad kinda conflicts with the piano occasionally, but yeah hopefully someone can offer up some good suggestions (and point out all the other errors that are probably in there too haha) :)

Yeah, true, i should try and write some variations soon and get it sitting as a full arrangement. Hopefully anyway ha, cheers.

@I Am Cook: I really like how you've got such a solid wall of sound going on, everything sounds sharp yet big at the same time - do you use a lot of dimension expansion? How much of it is based on samples from the original? It's surprising how well the deathcore blends into whatever the hell kind of demon music the rest of the track is :P

First post! (just a note before i begin the feedback - I'm no pro so take it with a grain of salt lads)

@ Swaggr: Those intro chords are gorgeous. The transtiton from the smooth analog beats to the modern banger left me a bit cold - maybe the change in volume is a bit too steep, even for dubstep. Your wobbles sound great. Post drop hats/cymbols sound a bit far back and washy. Keep it up.

@ Downfall: The main rhythm running through this tune is a bit challenging for me, I'm not musical enough to be able to explain why. I think part of the reason is the lack of dynamics, or velocity of the hits, and possibly quantizing too. I like a bit of funk and flex in my dubstep beats. On the positive side, it has a great evolving structure I really dig. Good use of adding and taking away "mimicing" layers. The mix sounds balanced and yeah, I can hear the lack of eq/compression.

@ ekidd91: I love delicate rhythms played on xylophones and bells etc, so I loved how this tune started. The levels sound off on my monitors tho. The melody needs to be turned down and everything brought up. The groove is really solid. Arrangement wise it's a bit too static. Rule of thumb says get some real action going not long afte rthe 1 minute mark. Try to keep things interesting for your listener - keep them hooked with new ear candy during every turn. I realise it's a WIP - just a friendly reminder.

Here's my WIP: Any feedback at all is much appreciated.

re : ekidd91 : you got it for the radio :p

re : espy : what do you mean by pads ? :)

re : psilocybophile : Thank you, if by " dimension expansion " you mean spatialisation, so i'm doing it a bit on some synth. The drop is made with many synths but only one/two samples but the first part / part after the 2nd drop are quite only made with them : detuned, pitched, shortened ( for the pak pak pakpakpakpakpak at 1:25 ) etc... I helped me to get a "pressurised" atmosphere in the beggining of the song with a heavy background sound which just came from a sample played verrrrry slowly :p

Once again : thanks a lot for your feedback !

@swaggr love the intro dude and the drop is nuts but i agree u could prob stack some more sub bass in there to make my head shake more and ud be golden

@downfall you clearly have a good progression w the way ur sounds evolve im just not really digging the melody its too all over the place for me just personal taste tho it rattled me, more into that bongo track of urs that track is sick deep vibes
@hiddenbase that whole intro was trippy as hell dude good work u had me so confused in the best way and delivered with a satisfying drop well done dude

as for my work in progress this is my first track ever and im down for criticism and help, I could definitely use some tips… thanks yo.

@hiddenbase this one is for the win :h: :U: :corndance:

@philthyloman good first attempt like the melody on top ,mixing wise i cant give tips its just gaining experience over time wouldnt help if i tell you do this do that ;but you could try leaving the midrange out for the start and work with sub melody and beat

@i am cook would sinc the sub little bit more to the lead so it doesnt confuse and add some more shuffly hi hats to the mix

just little fun track i am playing around with but maybe you got some ideas to add

@ekid
I actually think the piano sounds great w the drums. the track has a great melody. the whole time I was waiting for a drop and some dirty bass to bring it to life... which I guess is what we are all after isnt it? lol

@Bud Spencerton
I really like the bass sounds you are using but they get a bit muddy when they all come together, maybe play with your levels, eq and such. but overall its rly good. also that siren sound is a bit overpowering... I was thinking it might sound better to use in the buildup before the drop to draw it out a little longer and build more suspense.

@hiddenbase
This is really good.. that sound between 1:10-1:12 is fcking sick gnarly I love it. One thing I would def like ot see is that synth part in the intro built into your bass/wobbles and let it play off to give it some real dynamic changes. You did it after the second drop but I think you could do even more with it too, maybe bring it out a bit more and change up the melody.

this is my latest WIP. This is the first track i have posted on here, id really like to get some constructive criticism on anything you guys like or dislike. I really appreciate it in advance. thanks for listening. I have another track on my soundcloud too

@dalvare1 Really cool. has a nice atmosphere to it. I like the wobble. altogether a solid track :4:

@BudSpencertron really cool. nice use of babies :lol: anyways i like it. digging the robotic wobbles. cant really hear the hats, maybe make those a tad higher. :W:

@PhilthyLoman Cool. i like the panning at 1.10 its trippy. the song has a very deep vibe to it, i like it.maybe less distortion on the lead unless that is the sound you are looking for and maybe turn the high pitched sound down a bit. thats just my personal opinion though, good track! :W:

This is my second WIP Give some feedback. Things you like, Things you dont like. Thanks! :t:

@I Am Cook: thanks very much for the info, I'm really interested in sampling so it's great to hear how it's used :)

@hiddenbase: this is very much like the kind of style I am aiming for - darkly melodic, driving and breaksy. The drop is sick, yet somehow subtle at the same time. My only criticism is that I would personally have brought the main lead in a little more gently. I'm following you on soundcloud mate, really looking forward to seeing what you come up with :)

@budspencertron its nice but the drums at the second drop i dont like. and some point later you should bitcrush the baby :6:
@dalvare1 GOOD JOB YOU GAVE FEED BACK YOUR FIRST TIME *clap clap* :Y:
i like the idea but WHERES THE SUB BASS?!?!?!? come really i have and overpowered sub and could hear almost no bass. almost every thing else is good the dub bass is a little under whelming but you dont need to change it.

@s3b nice track a little boring at first but then WOW. but the vocals and the sub bass are to quite bring em up and its good

my new wip i made today is a little sexy ;-)

@BudSpencertron: Your bass sounds and production are solid. The biggest issues I feel are with song structure, the tracks a bit too short to be dropped into a set and a decent intro could really help there.

@ekidd91: That lead sound is rad. The main thing I think could help the track is to layer something, even if it is just a distorted sub bass patch, over your sub bass to make it more audible.

@Swaggr: I'm a "brostep" guy all the way, but my favorite parts are actually the soft, melodic ones. I
am really feeling that :). I feel a more neuro-ish reese would actually work better than the "yoi" sounds for this track.

Not completely dubstep, but it's 140bpm. I'd like some feedback, particularly concerning how this "Gabba" kick sounds. Thanks!

re: hiddenbase:Cheers, having a play around with a couple ned ideas for arrangement. That synth at the start of your wip is fucking golden. Actually can't really fault it, other than maybe keep a small variation of the melody going through the first drop, cause it works fucking great in the 2nd. Although... maybe that'd make the 2nd drop less good haha.

re: orca: Hadn't thought of layering the bass, but actually might give it a try, might help bring a bit more character to it as well, cheers. That wip of yours is fucking mentaaal! Love it. If you're not gonna put a subby bassline in, I'd say the kick needs more low end just to add a bit of thump to it.
