Benga is one of my favourite musicians; in fact, he's like a god to me. Therefore, I was very upset at FWD last night, when he played a set of chainsaw nonsense.
I have no problem with people wanting to go to awful funcase nights and listen to bollocks, just keep it out of my face.
(Sorry, Benga.)
I think since wobble has started to encroach on nights like FWD and dmz, people who don't really like wobble (such as myself) have a right to complain about it.

We live in a society where personal opinions are privatised. They are not open to public debate because "we are all entitled to our own opinions and their is no such thing as a wrong opinion". This attitude is wrong. It's time people realise that there are WRONG opinions.
Nowaday when you say an opinion is wrong, you are a fascist, authoritarian dictator. It's the worst crime a human is capable of doing.
I call bullshit.
Some of the people on this board have a wrong opinion. Period.

Just because there are a load of comments on wobbler tunes, or on forum threads like this, doesn't reflect on the real world. All it means is that teenage web-warriors are into wobble. STEP AWAY FROM THE INTERNET and see what real people associate with "dubstep" - I think you might be pleasantly surprised.
How can you say "What a load of bollocks" I'm telling you that there's a lot of people that think dubstep is all 'jump up' (Have I in any way said that this is the case for everyone? no). I'm not talking of my arse here, maybe you and all the people you associate with in life are clued up on music but a lot of people I see every day at work, in town etc haven't got a clue.
All in my head? don't patronize me, I wasn't saying that everyone sees dubstep in this way.
There's nothing patronising about calling bollocks when you're talking bollocks.
You claimed that typing "dubstep" into YouTube gives you loads of wobbler shit - I tried it and you were totally wrong.
You claim most people you see every day "don't have a clue" about dubstep - maybe true, but I very much doubt the majority of people you talked to would say "yeah midrange and comedy samples" if you asked them what dubstep meant. Or maybe that is what they said to you. Is it? No of course it's not.
You're just wrong.
Most music fans think dubstep means Burial Skream Benga Joker Caspa Rusko Joy Orbison Breakage... THEY DON'T THINK IT MEANS LAIRY WOBBLERS.

Seriously, I just typed "dubstep" into YouTube and the top result is Mt Eden Dubstep 'Sierra Leone' - hardly a wobbler, eh? On the rest of the search page, I see names like Skream, Youngsta, Komonazmuk, The Widdler, a really good A Milli remix that I'd never heard before by Optimus Gryme. Barely a tear-out silly-noise brostep shit-yourself wobbler to be seen in fact!
TRUFAX.
Yeah there's a couple of BWAAARRRP WOMWOMWOM BWAAAARP tracks there, but it's hardly like that's the dominant view you get of dubstep from searching YouTube is it?
I'd say it shows a pretty good cross section.
Because most people's view of dubstep is actually a pretty good cross section of the sound.
Wobble is only a problem if you want it to be.

alright, since everyone else is making their opinion noted...
i started getting into dubstep because it is by far, at least in my opinion, the LEAST constricted genre of music outside of generalized rock. it can be highly experimental or highly radio-friendly, but yet all dubstep tracks retain certain qualities (dark/gritty tones, cracking snares, bass). i liked (and still do) the fact that you can have an artist like Kode9 making tracks with Spaceape that sound fucking weird and then also have someone like Rusko whos making fairly popular music - and its all dubstep.
i dont like midrange wobble. i dont like it because it hurts my ears and sounds more like a Transformers sound design session than music. that being said, if i want to listen to aggressive music, ill listen to Tragedy, His Hero is Gone, At the Gates, Emperor, Burzum, etc. i know that music hurts peoples ears, but i like it.
rob sparx let his opinion be known. it may not have been the best idea ever, but at least it started this hilarious thread.

first 'filthy dubstep mix' i went to on youtube-
Filthier than fingering your sister and finding your dad's wedding ring!
not all wobble encourages that, i mean i wouldn't think something so moronic when listening to coki etc (or actually ever)
but it is this shit side of wobble and the brain dead attitude that goes with it that needs to be addressed.
it is FUCKING EMBARRASSING

Just gone thru junodownloads today for finding some new music. the dubstep section is full of cheapest wobble crap. Makes me angry

. I think I'll keep listening to new vinyl releases only, since the new vinyl releases always offer 80% listenable stuff.
Its really sad to hear that wobble has taken over most of the parties in UK even DMZ.

t that is a fucking funny statement
why can't you guys loosen up and laugh and enjoy a mix of things more, dubstep of any kind shouldn't promote any sort of close minded droning uptightness, which is why its so beautiful that it has been able to grow into so many different sounds... Thats always a big reason why I appreciate the genre so much, and I don't complain about the good things even when they bring consequences I don't agree with
I love all of dubstep's sound and styles as long as their is a certain production AND/OR creativity behind it.
You guys are starting to sound like those who argue what is art and what isn't
and that is a question that only the maker of that "art" can answer, please remember that

The beauty of dubstep is the variety of sounds, appreciate it - I'd rather listen to wobble than Boyzone, I'd rather listen to Boyzone than you guys bickering. Chill out and appreciate the genre for its variety.
