Watched Prometheus for the 2nd time last night. Thought it was a 7/10 first time round but on closer inspection I'd say it's absolutely no more than 6/10.
Concept = good
Execution = poor

Script was awful. Pacing was awful. CGI was very good. Can't think of anything else which was very good about it. There wasn't even any interesting shots.

The bit which really pissed me off the most was when they finally 100% confirmed that there is alien life on this planet. First confirmation of another species in the universe and the ship's captain (Stringer Bell) just says "god damn..." not even in a surprised or amazed tone of voice. He just sounded slightly pissed off like he'd missed the bus and would have to wait for the next one. Fucking ridiculous. DUDE IT'S FRICKING ALIEN LIFE. SHIT YOUR PANTS.

Acceptable for a throwaway sci-fi flick, but nowhere near worthy of being associated with Alien.

Thanks for the reminder. Amazing film. I don't even have subtitles on the copy I've got but it held my attention for the whole damn thing.

Pretty awesome short movie from the epic 'Neo Tokyo' collection. Not as good as the later 'Memories' trilogy but well worth owning.

the above is unfortunately the American version which is a poorly translated piece and also misses two or three scenes deemed too gory...get the original!

Stopped watching movies, and consuming pop culture a while ago, hadn't heard of this, did a google search for moon, this film was the second result. That is crazy. Saw a clip, looked good, paranoid, which you know, is a taste I have.

If anything, I'd say that the film Moon is better than the actual Moon, which hasn't really ever done anything for me.

There's alwaysj Tarkovsky, Kubric, Jodorowski, Tsukamoto, Cronenburg and Miike frontdog backcat- alogues that one can sift through when feeling like that.
