and if you did that and got away with it fair play, power to you, if i didn't have insurance silly me, if i'd robbed stuff from other people KARRMERZ A BICH YO, if you got nicked for it - you dumb etc etc
the amount of times i skip the tram to work, then i get caught 3 times in a month and end up with a £100 fine. im not happy about it, but fuck it, i got away with it for that long, give no shits, you fuck up you pay the price, if you get away with it, whatever
people go around pretending constantly they're thinking about everyone around them when they only really give a damn if they have a scapegoat to hang
so if i came round to your house and rummaged through your bins and took your shredded bank statements with all your personal information/account numbers etc. on you'd just be cool with that [need i point out that this is a hypothetical 'you' and i dont care if you 'do all your banking online' or whatever]??lloydnoise wrote:it's not the same thing, if you've thrown something in a bin you are relinquishing ownership. If i threw something in a bin, I wouldn't be annoyed at anyone who took it for themselves for any reason. There is not a thing in my life I have ever thrown away that that would apply to.noam wrote:
its the same thing it was just made socially acceptable to a certain group of people by changing the name of it...
you take something you haven't paid for its THE SAME THING
just like squatting
the difference is a products potential retail value
the item i may steal may not ever get sold, it might sit on the rack and get thrown out and be repossessed by a 'dumpster diver'
its just safer and easier to go dig shit out the bins, but fuck it, i want a steak not a week day old houmous multi-pack
supermarkets throw food away because they cant legally sell it after they've had it in store on shelf for a certain amount of time, not cos they got bored of it and dont need it anymore, its not trash, its not junk, its not tat... its edible food they throw away. and people go in and steal it, which is great, power to them, but its no different to stealing from the shelf. a supermarket is not a person, a family or a household. it is a private business enterprise. shoplifters get blamed for the prices of products being raised, which is scapegoating considering the supermarkets could spend money making their stores more secure but instead they just charge paying public more.
