@ ]yungkay: It's not bad. some pretty nice bass sounds but its missing a melody. pretty good drums too. This is for the song titled illuminate
@antman: pretty sweet man you should definitley throw some melodic breaks in but thats a pretty good bass. i love the sample in the begining, i just wish there was a little melody in there.
@SMOR3S i felt like the candy corn was a joke so i guess i will talk about the other one. dubstep with derpy. its got like a weird vibe kinda like the candy corn song and then you throw in samples from the monster growl sample pack. its just kinda all over the place but not bad. just not my thing.

Monster growl pack LOL! It's called Massive, and INB4 I make my own sounds.... Only samples on that track are obviously the drum rack, vox, rev cymbal, and sub.... Not to sound rude, but don't assume everyone uses samples for everything...sean mansha wrote:@ ]yungkay: It's not bad. some pretty nice bass sounds but its missing a melody. pretty good drums too. stereoleben: I know it's a WIP, but the piano sounded like there was to much low end, like the low end is sitting in the 40Hz range area... Prob my imagination, or SoundCloud compression... idk... Good overall production!
blinkesko: Tasty fucking track... I am a DnB fiend, and you gave me my dose of medicine :3
@mthrfnk: You never fail to impress me..... The guitar and vocals sound awesome :3
@sean mansha: It was decent.. The mix did sound a bit muddy, but you prob didn't spend that much time aye? The lead growls sound very nice though... + to refer back to your rude comment, Dubstep with Derpy is a released track, not a WIP lol...
My newest WIP:
I still need to add more glitchy vox, and a lead synth, but so far it has came out pretty well... I hate genres, but is this what you would classify "Neurofunk DnB"? Also I tried to get the really phasy sounding kick/snare in the intro like Netsky does, but I don't think I nailed it quite right... I just automated volume across, from -35db to - 10db...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@sean mansha Everything seems to be layered quite right, perfect use of compression for this particular style of music. Not sure if your patches are the same as the sub, but if not, maybe clean up the low end a bit on the patches. For a WIP, this is sounding like you have the main song elements down, all it could really using is some tuning up on the patches and instruments, big ups.
@mthrfnk Just thought I'd say I like where this is going, can't wait for a finished product.
@blinkesko If by "tops" you mean highs, I'd say they're alright, maybe a notch or two lower, but the bass is what i think is overpowering the most. If that piano isn't a sample, maybe try adding some trills, it's nothing special, but its makes it seem like you're hitting more notes hahaha.....
So, here's a new wan, and the VIP that I started on this morning. Don't care much for feedback on the VIP, more of a personal song that i'm going to do whatever i please with anyway, but still thought it deserved a public listen =] Oh yeh, also went under a name change and such....on some goony business wit deez wans. gwan!

@Pyrez; (First Track) The vocals get a little repetitive, and the kick sounds like it's getting buried under the mid/low frequencies.. The overall layout, and aspect is nice, you for sure have something going on here...
@Pyrez; (Second Track) And people thought my candy corn song was repetitive lol.. (No Offense.) I think of squishy things, when I listen to that track :/
My newest WIP: (Working on a new EP..)
INB4: The kicks are to high in the mix + I think the songs slams to hard into 0:32, so I might put a double clap break, into a rise...

All your drums seemed to be panned left, did you use a stereo shaper on them or something?SMOR3S wrote:@Pyrez; (First Track) The vocals get a little repetitive, and the kick sounds like it's getting buried under the mid/low frequencies.. I used stereo imagining in Ozone 5, but I doubt that did it, and in my mix, they are centered, so idk....mthrfnk wrote:All your drums seemed to be panned left, did you use a stereo shaper on them or something?SMOR3S wrote:@Pyrez; (First Track) The vocals get a little repetitive, and the kick sounds like it's getting buried under the mid/low frequencies.. Hmm okay, it maybe something to do with Ozone, they sound as if the right channel is delayed by a few ms (as in the Haas effect) to emulate stereo but to me they just end up sounding panned to the left.SMOR3S wrote:I used stereo imagining in Ozone 5, but I doubt that did it, and in my mix, they are centered, so idk....mthrfnk wrote:All your drums seemed to be panned left, did you use a stereo shaper on them or something?SMOR3S wrote:@Pyrez; (First Track) The vocals get a little repetitive, and the kick sounds like it's getting buried under the mid/low frequencies.. Okay ya, I put a 0.2ms delay across all bands, whilst mastering, during the stereo imaging process.. So I'll make sure not to delay the bands next time /)mthrfnk wrote:Hmm okay, it maybe something to do with Ozone, they sound as if the right channel is delayed by a few ms (as in the Haas effect) to emulate stereo but to me they just end up sounding panned to the left.SMOR3S wrote:I used stereo imagining in Ozone 5, but I doubt that did it, and in my mix, they are centered, so idk....mthrfnk wrote:All your drums seemed to be panned left, did you use a stereo shaper on them or something?SMOR3S wrote:@Pyrez; (First Track) The vocals get a little repetitive, and the kick sounds like it's getting buried under the mid/low frequencies.. Here is an update of my track:
Idk if the piano works or not... Piano starts right @ 0:32 + do the kicks still sound left panned?

@blinkesko
Fet intro! Kult pianoriff. Sounds good and well balanced to me.
@mthrfnk
Chill and nice vibe to this one. Liking the melodic aspect of the track nicely. Electric guitar solo at the second part was a nice touch, maybe you should drench it even more in flanger and a huge highpassed and stereo spread plate reverb? Also, some BOOOMs here and there would be awesome.
SMOR3S
Good levels in my headphones, punchy mix. Vocal sample is excellent, I don`t know about the seagull screaming though..!!
Pyrez
Definitely the most original tracks of the 4 I heard so far. What do you call this genre? Crazy stuff man.

Feedback:
@thrillion Very Rusko-esk! Love the wobbles, I thought it was going to drop into some brostep shit, but you impressed me :3... I do think the main wobble bassline could hit harder, it sounds like the sub is lowered during that part, and or something is missing, cause it feels kind of empty... Good overall production! keep the good work up!

@SMOR3S
Yeah, the main bass line should definitely hit harder. More sub is a good idea, maybe I can cram some more filth in there some place also.
And thank you, Rusko is absolutely one of my long time favorites!
Your track sounds good, you got nice punch to your drums.
The sharp lead pad type synths you got on it though gets a bit heavy. How would they sound with a LPFLFO?

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@thrillion: For sure a lot better! I still love the Rusko vibe! I am climaxing all over it :3 The drops are really smooth and some what glitchy.. Panning is nice, and the weight of the track does seem heavier...
I fixed my track a bit too... This one is a pre-master btw..
I still need to add more elements during the intro, build up, and break downs, but the basslines seems better overall... Before there was so much 8K Khz + air, that I swear my chair was levitating :3

Cool, thank you. Your track sounds good, I crave more energy here though. Maybe sidechaining more extreme, add some Daft Punk ish arp synth line? Hmm, nice work.

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
smor3s - I think something might have gone wrong with the mixing. It sounds really (really) low. Like a played it against your dubstep with derpy song and Aura sounds really really low, even if its a pre-master. There is a lot of high end to the sound that isn't bad I just feel it could do with a little more in the low end and a little more punchiness to the drums (particularly the clap). If youre looking to add more elements you might want to consider a change up (not a drop) to just add movement to the sound.
thrillion- dat bass. seriously, its really good. Really feeling the rusko vibe and the vocoder-esque thing around 1.35 was pretty cool too. The panned wobbles worked out pretty well also. Maybe could do without the double time section around 3.46, as you've pretty much got a full song before that. Good job overall man. (also your sig is really cool)
mthrfnk- not much more to say about this song man, I think you might have brought up the level of the snare a bit, or maybe I wasn't paying that much attention to it before. I like that lower vocal that comes in occasionally with the higher pitched vocal. Its cool, and the guitars are still excellent. The only think I could criticize is that that snare roll/fill feels inorganic and strange against the rest of the song.
pyrez- super reptitive. As you intended, but when something is that reptitive it's flaws are more noticible, and I think the distortion on this lead is bordering on too much. Is there a flanger on the clap? It's weird. Also, that snare is extra hollow, this could all be things you intended, but they're kind of strange.
My WIP
I'm going to be helping some friends with a DnB remix in a few days so I thought I'd try my hand at a track. I used some samples from the 16 bit trap pack Oprs put up a while back, but the drums and bass and other stuff is all me. Let me know what you think!
