yeah man i like it... it sounds a bit strange because it feels like none of the parts are in key with one another... maybe its just my ears being stupid... but thats what im gathering...
safe 4 the feedback man, will try do dat..shredexx wrote:yeah man i like it... it sounds a bit strange because it feels like none of the parts are in key with one another... maybe its just my ears being stupid... but thats what im gathering...
also what would sound cool is if you switched up the hihat pattern to mimic the LFO speed of your bassline... its a pretty simple trick and cleans up your beats 10 fold.

I had this problem until recently, although to be fair yours doesn't sound all that lacking treble. I found that getting the right samples was key. In terms of drums, as the production bible rightly instructs - spend the time to layer up elements of your percussion. Like the punch of that snare? Keep the attack, but combine it with the bassy reverb of that other snare you've found somewhere else. Export that as its own sample, then for the kick, and so on.
TBH, the killer in most production is copy/paste. Ypu can hear straight off when someone's duplicating elements to stretch out across the minutes. I do it all the time but I'm trying to stop myself. Its like the difference between a Photoshop filter and a handdrawn sketch - we can feel when time's gone in to every second and every detail of a tune. Try spending a day putting breaks and alternate patterns for your drums, it'll work wonders.

Just keep on playing with the LFO and you'll soon get an idea of how to change stuff up, along with beefing up the snare & kicks with EQ ( but that all comes down to experience and there's much better advice from other people elsewhere on here, haha )jaydot wrote:Very first effort, messing around with some software. Mm, I'm no expert mind, but the snare could do with some layering, although mainly wanted to say it was nice to here something a little different to a transformer-esque sound. Really nice vibe to it, I like it!miniweapon wrote:thanks man i will work on it and updatepolygonfiction wrote:miniweapon wrote:i really like this tune i made but the sounds not Crisp enough.
