I really hate hospitals

I just got back from one... Mom just went in. Not sure whats wrong but some kind of abdominal infection but could be something else. Will know by tomorrow. Sort of bummed out right now, so i decided to put a lip in and its calming my nerves a bit.

On a side note, why do you get a bit tipsy per se with chewing tobacco and not really with cigarettes? Chewing is disgusting but it calms me down and lowers my anxiety... Some nights i get panic attacks and my head gets to me. I dont know right now. Chew started kicking in ahah.

A bit of cheese is to be expected, but cottdamn man, it's like they're all on their personal quest to combine the cheesiest elements of both styles. Well, stop looking motherfuckers. it was lame to begin with, but i guess there were a couple of bands that pulled it off; alcest for instance. but more obscure ones are shit. but then again i'm not a big fan of either so...

I really agree. Black Metal is supposed to be sonically horrible hate dark hateful stuff. It can be melodic and reflective but it's got to be done in a dark way. Fuck this hipster who broke up with his girlfriend and went for a walk in the woods once and decided that if he makes black metal sound more like explosions in the sky it'll make him seem like less of a weirdo bullshit which is what Sleeping Peonies sounds like to me.

Yeah see, I appreciate the ATTEMPT at making bm sound 'blissful' or less "hateful", I applaud looking outside the box. Like, I feel like early Drudkh was on to something, it to me translates euphoria much better in black metal. Bak De Syv Fjell also had this.. epicness and 'big' sound with clean singing and it worked mad well.

But "blackgaze" sounds forced and far too self-aware. It's not euphoric because the music evokes it. It WANTS to be euphoric and epic and relies too heavily on all the common elements that people generally associate with 'euphoria and epicness', rather than just writing black metal well and let the quality do the talking.

I'm reminded of this pitchfork interview with WITTR where they asked them about their post-rock and black metal influences. I fucking cringed reading that and WITTR had the right answer. "Black metal already is about big hypnotic guitars". I think the whole shoegaze/bm association hurt the style more than anything and I dig some early shoegaze.

HAHA. SUICIDAL BLACK METAL IS SO FUCKING LAME. It's FUCKED UP for those assholes to appropriate depression as a fucking fashion statement to begin with (people kill themselves daily for very legitemate reasons and they just flaunt their supposed "suicidalness" to draw attention to themmselves and fit in with the other trv hedz). They also don't even see the damn hypocrisy in being "anti-emo" while acting the exact same way except worse and dressing like sickly looking goths at a funeral.

I think non-NS black metal heads who SYMPATHIZE with Hitler and NS are the fucking cream of the crop, though. I shit you not, I met JEWS into black metal who have some NS sympathies, because they really just have to fucking fit in SO BADLY with their bm friends. The tunes can be sweet as fuck. But black metal is the most fashion conscious, mindlessly sheepish and religious sub culture on Earth.

Gaahl's coming out is the single greatest thing in black metal btw. Just, I love that. Even the music isn't THAT good and I count some bm as my favorite music
