i might have gone a bit mad with the erosion and distortion then, i'll try messing with that, thanks. i'll send you a copy in the likely event it doesn't get chosen as the winner if you'd like it ahah

vocals sound alright in that tune johney, could possibly do with the snare and kick being a bit quieter. didn't notice anything off about the structure really

I like the ultra-distorted mid range tbh Codex, don't change it too much.

Guys I need some help getting a cleaner production, been listening to lots of Objekt recently so this track is inspired by his stuff I guess, love his production.

I just wish I could give mine a more pronounced, clearer edge to it.

How can I improve this song?

thanks, i think i'm just gonna try and make it sound a bit less weak and trebley

that songs sick btw, production sounds pretty clear as well. one thing i can think of that might make it even clearer is layering the claps with a different clap at a lower pitch (or maybe just an EQ boost around the mids, i dunno)

exfox- really nice, i just feel it needs to go somewhere you know? like its a really strong basis, but it needs something to catch the listeners attention.

ironically enough I'm in the same position with my latest bit, it needs something else at the 1:04 mark, but I'm not sure what i should do to keep it interesting nah mean?

@ehbrums you know I love your stuff and always tell you should be more focused and professional with your production, right? :) Not feeling the drums, they could be a lot morre gritty and less cirurgical / punchy, maybe keep just the kick.

I've got a tape sat on the drum bus, do you think increase the d/w would work or scrap the drums all together

and thanks :)

@ehbrums1 - really love your track personally. don't really feel like it needs more variation or anything (but then that's perhaps because of my obsession with hypnotic music), you change enough things during the different parts to keep the attention alive. really loving the atmosphere throughout

@Hircine - liking it too. i just feel like there should be some more effects on the vocal sample at the end... can't say what, though!

@hircine that tune is NAUGHTY.

@ehbrums - that intro is so lush, love the rain and ambience, that delay ride hit is quite clean though and loud. It contrasts a bit too starkly with the crackly, warm intro I think. I reckon either bring it down in the mix or use a softer/warmer type sound that isnt as cutting, maybe a shaker or reverse perc. Love the sub movement. Maybe in terms of adding interest add in some vocal snippets that give little fragments of melody but keep it sparse I like it!

Made this a few months ago but only uploaded it quite recently, going for a rootsy, dubwise flavour, most of the samples (except for the drums) are off a few Trojan dubs. Hold tight for the cheeky switch up too ;-)
