Honestly, you've got a real comfortable amount of gear there. A hw synth, some key controller, comp, extra monitor, monitors, apc40 w/ a launchpad (decadence!). Nice tight setup. Major jammage happening, I can imagine.
Re: the classic "take a photo of your setup" thread
have you ever tried digital djing with the launchpad?Theo Void wrote:Heres where the magic happens. lol

no subwoofer though? those monitors look too small to have a full bass response. I don't really understand why people shell out for awesome hardware and shit before they get a decent monitoring setup, that would be the top of my list if I had that type of cash

Yeah I had maybe one ok sounding mix, and it was totally out of phraseSonika wrote:Ain't that the truthit gets better though, I've only been DJing a few weeks and I've already seen vast improvement in my beatmatching endeavors

a subwoofer in the wrong room, or just wrong position in a room can be INCREDIBLY counter intuitiveSonika wrote:nowaysj wrote:Honestly, you've got a real comfortable amount of gear there. So instead just ignore the fact that you're missing the low end?

This is one of my fave pics in this thread. Fucking Bat-Cave for sampling. Nice one.

Actually, the monitors are pretty decent. They're M-Audio Bx5a's. You'd be surprised at how good they sound. They're active and have 5 inch sub-woofers.
And ya, I definitely rock the hell out on the controllers. Honestly I use the Launchpad more than anything. When I play Live it's just the Launchpad and APC40. I like to have most things mapped so I can record automation rather than draw it all in manually.(Although sometimes it can't be avoided.)
The synth is a Roland GAIA and honestly, I'm not really feeling it.
