there are actually loads of posture tutorials on youtube for people with desk jobs, the main thing i think is to try and remind yourself to maintain good posture if you catch yourself slouching or whatever

i have the same problem finji, plus lower cross aka anterior pelvic tilt (which actually bothers me more). they probably contribute to each other too i think, shitty lower posture worsens my upper posture and vice versa. i tried just sitting straight for years too and it didnt really change much, i think once it's pretty out of wack, that alone isn't enough to reverse it.

stretch the tight muscles and strengthen the weak ones. youre probably best off just googling "pectoral stretch", "lower traps exercise", etc and seeing which ones work best for you personally, but if you want i can write up the ones i try to do consistently.

benched 100 something kilos for the first time today, didn't feel as heavy as i thought it would, mental thing

then did my back in doing shoulder press, is that what it's called? when you do a deadlift followed by raising the bar above your head? anyway, i fucked up and tried to lift too heavy and lost my balance a bit and it feels like i've pulled my trap, just the bottom left corner, I hope it feels alright tomorrow.

Do you guys go gym solo or with a partner, cause I go solo and it's not really an issue until I start benching

Solo. I only bench with dumbbells. I get a much better stretch with db anyways.

I only ever bb when I'm working decline and I'll do that in the squat rack and use pins.

Is there a massive difference between bench and dumbell press? Cause if not then I could use less weight when benching and then go harder with dumbells

Db give a better stretch as. Molzie said above and you'll be unable to do any sort of chest bounce at the bottom

No difference, just preference. Personally, I've had better growth with db over the years.

Dumbbells work more of the stabilisers.

Should my sumo be heavier than my DL?

IMO, no.

Narrower stance on standard DL = generate more power.

though if you train both seperately and on consecutive days (day 1 dl, day 2 sumo) with ample lower body recovery time, shouldn't be an issue.
