Oh and random tip, Best views in Amsterdam are found at the top of the public library (biggest in Europe apparently) if you are looking straight at the station its all the way right along the canal (also maritime museum and other such things are that way aswell) The restaurant up theres is cheap and really nice too boot!
Local on a diff forum told me about it and yeah well worth a look.

Yeah thats the one! Got a parrot in the sign (got one of their lighters ) I liked Amnesia more but im not sure if that further away as we walked everywhere because its so small.

recommendations on favorite coffee shops to check out? preferably small and cozy

I have been to a lot of coffee shops here and i can honestly say that there are none that i want to be in any longer than it takes to buy my shit. The staff treat you like shit which i guess has something to do with the fact that most of the clientele are often idiots. Or i might just be a cynical asshole.

Rokerij and Dampkring often have good prices on certain popular strains like amnesia haze or diesel becaue they are always in competition with eachother. The both have several locations all over the city, and actually the Rokerij on Elandsgracht is not so bad to hang out in cos its a little out of the really busy tourist area.

Tweede Kamer is ok to hang out in but small, they are run by Dampkring and have all the same stock, this place is for older people and you won't see any teenagers with gelled up hair dressed like Ali-G.

Greenhouse is overpriced and i never go there, same with Barneys.

These are just my opinions though and they might be colored by the fact that i've lived here over a year and frankly i can't wait to leave. Even the weed (which i love) does not make up for how lame this place is (sry if any amsterdammers are reading this, its just how i feel), and it's hard to appreciate it for its historical value (and there is a ton) because of the cheesiness that permeates the place.

Now excuse me i need to wet my whistle with some more hatorade.

I didn't really see the appeal of the Red light district atall Amsterdam is so nice just to wander around the canals checking out the architecture an such as opposed to sitting in a coffee shop for three days. I can see why local get fucked off with people visiting JUST for drugs!

iv got a million things to do for work, a million things to do personally, yet I still find time to waste my time away on here, the least constructive option of the lot. I would have thought at my age, my time management/ discipline would be better. I stayed in the office till 10 last night finishing some shit I had to do, I could have been home by 7 and actually had an evening. Its cliche and been said a million times by a million people, but procrastination is a bitch, I wish I could boy it off completely. Regular blazing definitely makes it twice as worse too, terrible concentration.

mate i intend to wander as much as possible! also dont see the appeal of the redlight district. just looking for a couple suggestions on nice place to get high before i do the wandering... visiting just for drugs is shame, if all you want to do is smoke weed stay at home ye.

its worth a try, quite the interesting substance. much more mild on the brain (in terms of 'brainfuck') than a traditional hallucinogen but more stimulating... best way to describe it imo is that the effects are a mixture between mdma and lsd but nothing like a combination of the two. have fun.

word of warning if you have it in pure powder form DO NOT insufflate it, it will be the most painful thing your nose has ever experienced.
