Real nice man, feeling it alot more this time aroundcloak and dagger wrote: Thanks for the feedback! I actually had a pad in there earlier, but I thought it sounded too busy and wanted a sparser sound. I've been listening to a lot of old DMZ recently, that probably has something to do with it. I'm not sure about turning the bass up, it was shaking the shit outta my apartment this morning![]()
Anyway, I uploaded a newer version of the tune that I'm happier with here if anybody's interested. Less wobble, more groove: Soundcloud

This is dope, i'd like to hear what it sounds like on a rig cause there might be a little too much mid-range distortion on some of those synths in the first drop. Super heavy and glitchy tho, i'm diggin it!

Sorry this is a bit late, real life got in the way :-/mistayif wrote:right, done a little refix of my recent tune. not a lot of big changes, just a host of subtle ones to bring in a bit of variation. i've kept the overall vibe of the original though

once again, all feedback and criticism is very much appreciated
YES. Fucking love it when it drops-- you've got everything working together great, and some serious sub bass on there. You managed to make a track that has a lot of momentum but still a really chill vibe, that's pretty hard to do (although big ups to jsaxton, "in my life" nails both the vibes and the momentum).
I like the arrangement as well-- the drop is just right, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. Maybe a little bit more variation though near the end of the first drop? The chill bit after the first drop is quite nice. The second drop is a little bit too similar to the first one, maybe change up the vocal sample a bit or something?
But yeah, other than that, digging the vibes. Definitely one to watch.

Re: Full tracks for feedback-- MARCH 2010
Digging it. The drums are FIERCE (all caps necessary), definitely gets the sub pumping, so good job on programming the low end. The drop halfway through doesn't quite work though, maybe it's a little bit too abrasive for its own good? I see what you're going for, and you're almost there, but the drop doesn't quite work. You need to find a way to make the bassline as fierce as the drums. There's a bunch of ways you could do this, but one thing that I would probably do is to cut the bassline into smaller pieces, almost like you're making an electro track, but extra filthy. Maybe add in some more sounds.
Hmmm I just had a second listen and I think part of the problem is that the cut-up bass is overwhelming the SICK drums you have, and there's not enough low-end. Maybe mess around with the EQ a bit? If the drums are rumbling then that can carry the bassline.
Hope that makes sense.

This sounds pretty sick - reminds me of Mt.Eden.
Might be because I'm high but maybe a deeper rounder kick drum. Sounds kindda sharp to me in a sense that it sticks out as a note? If you understand me....
Safe anyway

Intro Goes really fucking hard, That big dramatic synth is great!
I like the snare that drops BD has to bee more in the Mix though! Seriously! Please do it, It will make the tune fucking unbelievable
Riff that drops at 0.56 is fucking mad! Realy liking It!
This tune is imense, drop at 2.17 is great!
Bassline is cool
love the synth that comes in at 2.44 the slow release is great and the notes mushing into one another is brilliant
3.11 This drop is great!
Overall, this tune is fucking sick! I downloaded it! However you have to Mix it better, You need to try Eq, Compress or Pick a new Bass Drum, Cause it's the one thing keeping the song from being totally immense. However the melodys and synths are really good!
Well done,
Hope to hear a new mix of it soon, let me know if you do!

Hi
Intro is crazy, really different
Beat that drops is cool!
Love the synth that drops next!
The little break is cool, just at the right time!
The bassline that drops after the break is really cooL!
Need to work on your mixing, the mix here is very much!
It doesn't bang as well as it should!
Overall Its really well Structured, However you kinda lost it from 2.30 onwards, I'd try and redo it! And Fix the mix
Good tune though

all except the snare that seems to fade in the mix against the other instruments, like its not in your face or something. a little EQ should do the trick though nice work
Re: Full tracks for feedback-- MARCH 2010
Pretty cool, eery kinda sinister melody with some bitty commodore 64 style synth work
I like it.

The melodies are so sick in this. Really enjoyed itNeonOrdnance wrote:Soundcloud

I agree the kick drum could could through a bit... are u sidechaining your basses?
Also just my preference - I'd have the sub an octave lower
Still a sick track tho mate.
Peace.
Re: Full tracks for feedback-- MARCH 2010
I kinda get what you mean...the drums thin out on the 2nd part of beat. i might make the 2nd part more similar to the 1st when i redo it. thats for the comment. PeaceNeonOrdnance wrote:Digging it.
