ah, the short attention span of kids these days. how will you guys ever get an education if you can't read a paragraph thats less than 500 words?

can hardly knock someone for not wanting to read that wall of text.
anyone that writes a 23-line post without a single line break and actually expects anyone to read it is having a right laugh.

I don't actually think the tune is as bad as people on this forum are making it out to be.
I'm not a fan of chart music or britney spears but I find Modestep's song & video more embarassing.

Man if you had been in the dubstep scene for a few years and been producing even longer than that i reckon anyone would collaborate with Britney to get some dollar! All that work you have put in to music you would want a return, i don't blame the guy

no you are wrong. That 'paragraph' is grammatically shocking, sort your life out and get off your high horse
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

Why do people have to try stamp their own authority on a genre thus killing it.
Yeah there are some typical influences but they should be an absolute.
I haven't been listening to Dubstep for long (2009) but listening to Skream's version of 'In for the kill' for the 1st time totally blew my mind.
I knew from that point the Dubstep would and is the next evolution in music. DnB had it's chance but it's biggest fault is it's just to damn fast for mainstream.
The magic of Dubstep is the diversity so please don't stifle it by defining snare drum timing, drop timing, vocals and melancholic riffs.

These are a few 'rules' for music to be real dubstep:
-140-ish bpm (or 70)
-nice kick/snare on 1st/3d.
-nice bassline
-no pop-vocals (preferably no singing) & an awesome sample
-has to drop round the 17th beat (or the 34th) (if I'm not mistaking, started 'producing' like a week or 3 ago)
-preferably vinyl releases, or web.
-not to be known to anyone who's not in the dubstep scene.
Yeah that's about it. Of course this is my personal list, yours could be different.
Yet this eliminates Britney and Borgore very nicely, doesn't it?
Literally LOL'd at this hahahaha

you're not a dubstep producer if you haven't been referred to as a badman on an internet message board

And that list is the reason why dubstep is becoming so formulaic and generic these days.
Producers need to open up a bit, don't confine themselves to a bullshit understanding of what a genre is
