I don't even get what you're trying to illustrate there. I do think the notion that someone could only want to own a gun or to shoot someone in self-defense because of wanting to be a "badman" is retarded.noam wrote:svpreme wrote:
I don't see why you think pulling a trigger is some next level accomplishment that would require considerable fortitude or something, though.
Just because I think I'd be emotionally ready .svpreme wrote: The fact that you think about it in these retarded terms is indicative of your own misguided and immature approach to all this shit.
is the reason i think you're full of shit
you've talked yourself round in circles
What about knowing that I'd be emotionally ready to do that is misguided or immature? My life is more important to me than ascribing to some unrealistic moral ideal.
...and I was never talking about situations in which someone is trying to rob you for unimportant shit like an iPod in the first place. I don't think taking a life is worth that, and I wouldn't put my own life at risk over anything that could be replaced..but if I knew that some people are inevitably going to seriously hurt and/or kill me or my loved ones, that's entirely different. I realize it's an unlikely scenario, but it's not something I want to gamble with. In the context of someone breaking into your house, you don't know what the fuck could happen and I wouldn't take any chances. That doesn't mean I want to carry around a gun and be a "badman" by shooting someone.
