It most likely will. I don't know anyone who still enjoys brostep. Dubstep is good though.

The window for a new genre that comes along every 4 or so years is about to open, if any of you want to invent a genre now is the best time to start working on it.

you know what, i agree with that article. every point he made was valid, when he said that every possible "dubstep" track has already been made he was referring to formulaic drop-oriented music with filthy midrange cack. the next argument, referencing "post-dubstep" supports this, as everything that would originally have been called dubstep (the linked tune is very similar to ramadanman - offal which is one of my all time favorite dubstep tunes) are now filed under different genre names like "bass music" "post-dubstep" "130" and whatnot.
the xmas song argument reminded me of other genres that suffered the same fate like techno, trance or post-hardcore. techno recovered, trance stayed shit and post-hardcore kinda died off though i can't really say that as i stopped listening to most of it.

i sincerely hope that dubstep as we now know it will be over next year and young people will find something new, after all dubstep was just the spark that lit up the US rave phenomenon 20 years after it happened in europe and there's already original styles emerging there like moombahton which i am perfectly fine with cause they cater to the drug-induced needs of young 'ravers' without ridiculing stuff i care about.

house, techno and (true) electro were the foundation of the european rave era, now we gave them something back in return so they can have their own musical revolution and now it's time to continue that on their own.

i love getting the booklets and art when i buy CDs.. i definitely didn't skip it, thats still how i buy music. even tho it is stupid considering they're just flimsy, outdated soft-drive discs that hold something like 350MB data... and the drives for them are on their way to being phased out of computers for good... I buy them bc i'm limited to digital playback, and i do want the extra, plus just the aspect of owning the physical copy. But i definitely DON'T want a PDF. We can come up with something better. If they can eliminate shipping costs, distros need to take advantage of it, but tbh I like getting things shipped, i like the anticipation of it arriving in the mail. They should put lossless .WAVs on a nice, decent looking thumb drive with a few gigs storage, and in there put a folder with the music, plus whatever else -- promo tunes, adverts, graphics, videos, freebies. And let it come in a box with artwork and booklets comparable to that of a CD. and finally, you get to keep the thumb drive, erase it and use it in your daily life. OR, ship it back for a discount on your next purchase. See, we don't have to decide between embracing the digital age, and having quality physical goods.

You're a revolutionary genius. That idea would make getting flac's/wavs/mp3's exciting.

no man i think it's a great idea too, i've always wanted to like buy a bunch of usb sticks in bulk to use for promotion, maybe put a cool logo on them or something that way i could pass out my original tracks or mixes to dj's or label ppl. even if they don't like the tunes they will at least have something useful that they would remember me for.
