I think if a belief system is strong enough then it should be able to cope with some criticism, if the criticism then shows holes in the belief then the belief holder will either have to change their assumption or go into denial and try to reduce the credibility of the critic. Having said that, that stands for both parties in the thread concerned.

And I do totally agree that the word fascism is used with a lack of understanding that is ridiculous. Acting like a dick and then being asked to stop is not fascism, just something that most civilised countries have tried to incorporate to keep the level of twattery down. And that wasn't a dig at Parson by the way, although I wish he'd have given more explanation at times rather than just posting links and/or calling other folks deluded fools - not the best icebreaker I think. Come back fella, at least you keep it interesting.

Personally I think that people being hostile to moderators on this forum is childish and petty. I think they do a tricky job very well - and in their own personal time for no payment (it must sometimes be very very tedious). Nobody ever shows them much appreciation because if they did they would be called 'dubstep cabal' or suck ups. Instead, mods just get flamed when they have to make a difficult decision.

I don't always agree with all the decisions made by the mods and don't always agree with everything they post, but I've never thought that they have abused their position.

Anyway, can we not just all go and spend some time in the 'Congratulations' thread and calm down? That's a Happy Place.

Bigger plates are required. There are only two potato dishes, mashed and roast, and they're perfectly acceptable to eat together.
