3. the sound at DMZ beats exodus hands down
...
hmm, interesting...having only been to dmz once; the 2nd birtday bash, and been going subdub/exodus regular for a few years...is the iration rig just too loud? like simple as that, too loud? bcus thats been a complaint from a few people....or was the treble too much, white noise cuttin thru the head bizniz?
just interested how you come up with that opinion...? (no attempt at beef or owt i assure you)

I'm in the same boat as you mate, in that I only went to dmz for 2nd birtday, and regularly get to subdub/exodus. I would have to say I think Iration is better. More feel-it-in-your-chest bass. The snares can HURT though. Although, as I say, only went to dmz the once (wearing the t-shirt as I type this), so maybe my opinion is biased a little.

out of interest were you wearing earplugs for iration steppas? cos if the treble is cutting through even with plugs that does sound like its just too loud

Exodus is definitely louder than the main room at DMZ imho

I used to go without. But now I've got a little bit on tinnitus, and the snares can genuinely cause pain. So I always wear ear plugs. Admittedly, they are only the free ones on the door, I really need to get some proper ones....

hardly ever wear earplugs to be honest. i find to the immediate side of a stack, behind a tiny bit is the sweetest spot in a dance. either that or up front with where the big dutty fans are coolin the amps. either of those spots i can happily march on for 8 hours

right, no surprise really that it sounds too loud, for a stack like that you should get some decent filter plugs like er-20's, that dull the top end of the music, great for cutting out the pain from the snare kicks, the other night i took my plugs out of my ears just to see what the comparison was like, and you don't realise how cutting and dangerous the snare is until you feel that difference

i've started early on the earplugs, before, rather than after, i've got any problems - and strongly recommend them, elacin er-20's are your best bet, or if you're feeling rich/think its worth it they also do custom moulded ones

serious mate, i recommend it, cuts out all that horrible treble you don't want, so you can hear everything clearly (including stuff your mates are trying to say to you) - anyway think about it this way, you may not hear everything as loudly, but you're still gonna feel it just as much

exodus is much louder, but with earplugs in its not too loud. can understand how it might be too loud without, but you really should be wearing earplugs to most (dubstep) nights if you care even the slightest bit about your hearing

haven't been to exodus so can't speak from experience, but agree with that second statement - backed up about 10000000000000000 times if you're going to dnb/trance/house/anything disgustingly trebly
