imo, the "policies" given by politicians leading up to elections arent worth the paper theyre written on.

And again imo, it will make little difference who is the actual representative for each party, I dont think personal views really come into it much, its just a case of appeasing those around you and doing what your advisors...advise. Especially in the case of Boris! I think he at least does know that hes a bit nuts (better than the large amount of politicians who are idiots, but arent aware of this) and as such is going to be more than happy to let others take the reigns as it were.

On the plus side for Boris, he is a FUCKING legend. He used to do talks at Henley College where I went for 2 years all the time, and they were simply amazing. The place would be absoloutely rammed with students firing questions at him something similar to "Do you take mushrooms mate?". He'd start his bumbling answer, then his helper/advisor person who he ALWAYS had by his side would whisper something along the lines of "dont answer that..." in his ear, and hed sit back down looking a bit grumpy

Hes got my phone number 'n all. He sounded so genuinely keen to come down to a party I was having

Both candidates were pretty crap, just like both of the main parties. Voting for either horrifies me, but i'm slowly starting to lean towards the tories, because I can't stand the authoritarian crap labour has been pulling. I definitely lean left, but i'm also running fast from the current BS!

I'm pretty much the same. They're so similar in most ways that the only thing that really sticks out is Labour's authoritarianism (ID cards, increasing the legal length of holding people without charge, the amount of new laws they've created etc.) all of which the Tories stand against, or at least they say they do at the moment.

Lesser of two evils and all that. Luckily I don't live in England and there is at least a half sensible alternative up here.

Where in scotland are you at? I'm studying at edinburgh...

Not sure if the SNP count as half sensible :). I'm against the whole splitting off thing, which seems to still be extremely unpopular. Despite that, they keep pushing for it.

I'm in Edinburgh as well mate. How long you been in this wonderful neck of the woods? :)

Still not fully convinced about the SNP. As usual with politics it comes down to the best out of a bad bunch though. At the moment I think a drastic change is needed and I'd definitely take independence over a Tory government in Westminster.
