So it turns out he's trying to fill a position that's actually a grade below what I currently do and was hoping I might step on a mine and name a price within that range.

Luckily despite my natural English low-balling I still came in just above so he's going to try and see if the job description can be changed to get me a fair and decent* wage.

No doubt I'll get itchy feet in a few months anyway. Been here longer than anywhere I've worked since 2004...
