Hey hey everyone. New here to the forums, as well as working with Dubstep. I've been producing and mixing Trance, house, drum n' bass, and other genres on and off since I was about 15 on and off, but never really got serious with it. It wasn't until about last year that I started regularly practicing. I look forward to getting to know the rest of the community.

Hey everyone! I am new as of a few weeks ago. Forgot to post here, so thought I would now. I have been making dubstep and electro for about two months now. I absolutely love it! In fact I love it so much, I am currently working on an artificial intelligence program that makes dubstep! You can read about it, and it's progress in the forums! I have been programming for 5 years, almost coming up on 6 here! :D

Well hello fellow headz, My name Is Aaron. I'm from Canada. new to this site as of yesterday. Have been Listening to dubstep for a couple of years now. I'll admit I started out listening to the heavier "brostep" style because it reminded me of metal , only in electronic form. I started DJing last year which helped to evolve the styles of dubstep i listen to. I went back and listened to a lot of the original stuff from hatcha, Skream, Benga, Cyrus, Plastician ect. which in turn led me to newer productions of the dark, minimal persuasion (dj madd, lurka, matt-U). I like it all. I think all styles of dubstep have great tracks and none should be overlooked. I just recently started fooling around with reason. Still learning the basics but hope to have a track completed in the next month or two. Anyway nice to meet everyone :)

Hello everyone!

I'm glad I'm finally getting around to joining this forum. I've ended up here when googling questions for producing so I thought: Why not save a step? My name is Eric. I go by the stage name Eric E-fect.

I produce mainly electro house but I like to put some Dubstep breaks in my songs and I'm gradually starting to work in the genre.

Hey!

I'm new here, obviously but I'm also new to dubstep. I'm looking at the natural progression from reggae/dub to current music and heard a lot of dubstep in a project I was involved in recently.

Is there much link between the old style dub stuff or shall I save tyhat for a different thread?

:-)

Zup dawgs?!

Rayafdoom, born i Sweden and have been making dubstep since summer -11. I started lissen to dubstep after my friend played me Sierra Leone by Mt. Eden, and some other tracks i dont remeber. I have been a fan on hiphop since...forever, and then metal. So dubstep aimed stright throu my heart and im absolutley loving it!! :)

Well back to le dub. Im a big fan of Datsik and his friends. The dark shit just makes me go crazy. So i tried to make my own darkstep :) i still learning soo much fooling around in Ableton live so after every track i make i have added some new shit (effects, mixing etc).

Rayafdoom @ SoundCloud - would love a follow from a kind person that likes to hear progress in songs, and since we are like a family here i think everybody should help everybody out... too much talking from me.

much love!

Yo, I'm Jacob, from the states... I make dubstep, listen to dubstep.... While I enjoy both ends of the spectrum (both original and bro) I primarily produce more oldschool type dubstep... although I've made brosteppy stuff before, I just feel the genre has gotten a little redundant.... it lacks originality at this point, and I feel I want to make something that requires a little more imagination... I will be releasing some stuff soon. I'm looking to find people to collaborate with on this site. Its my dream to get signed and tour.... I cant think of anything I want more. So far I haven't really done anything to get my name out there yet :P I'm only 17 though, so I guess I have quite a bit of time to do so :D .... well that's about it

What's happening?

Post by kcollective » Thu Mar 15, 2012 6:12 am

Hey y'all, thought I'd introduce myself. Dubstep lover, naturally... started producing about a year and half ago, but that was mostly trance. I thought that dubstep was more complicated, and it is, so I left that on the sideline for a while, until recently and hoping to finish my new track.

I joined to the forum to learn more, and interact with people who actually appreciate dubstep. Apparently admitting that in the real world is like admitting you have a serious condition.

Anyways, I'll see you folks around.
