Depends on what kind of dubstep you're admitting to appreciating...kcollective wrote:Hey y'all, thought I'd introduce myself. Dubstep lover, naturally... started producing about a year and half ago, but that was mostly trance. I thought that dubstep was more complicated, and it is, so I left that on the sideline for a while, until recently and hoping to finish my new track.
I joined to the forum to learn more, and interact with people who actually appreciate dubstep. Apparently admitting that in the real world is like admitting you have a serious condition.
Anyways, I'll see you folks around.

Ah yes, and that shall remain a mystery. I'd love to bite, but I wouldn't want to start a war to infamous what-dubstep-is-goodDepends on what kind of dubstep you're admitting to appreciating...

But I will tell you this: I believe all good music (and yes, there is such a thing) stands the test of time. That's what I want to produce... deep, meaningful, melodic, bass dripping music.

Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here
Hello! I've been enjoying dubstep and bass music for a few years now, and recently started producing it. I like all kinds of dubstep from deep minimal tunes to heavy hitting maximal bangers. Currently using Ableton Live 8 mostly with Massive for synthesis, but I'm learning a bunch of other VST's as well as Logic Pro 9. Cheers!
Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here
Hey everyone! I've just started getting into electronic music last year, and I've been producing it for as long. I am by no means a noob, but I'm not a pro either. I'm just your average teenage hobbyist!
I listen to almost all kinds of music to a certain degree, and because of this I don't write strictly "dubstep" per se, but my tracks do contain a lot of dubstep influence, so bear with me if I post something that isnt "purist" enough for you.
Well thats me
Hope to stick around for a while.

Hi guys! I'm IntoNevermore, I'm also a Metal-Archives.com poster (http://www.metal-archives.com/users/IntoNevermore ) , but i'm open to almost any kind of music, so, recently I got into Dubstep, via artist like Skrillex, Feed Me and Excision (yeah maybe the most obvious ones) and it seems from what I've read that these actually aren't considered "true Dubstep" but "Brostep" and the "Drop" seems to be the equivalent of Core's music Breakdowns, well, I only know that i like some dubstep and maybe this forum helps me to expand my electronic musical collection. That being said, Hi again, see you in the forums!

Howdy,
I'm Ajit. I'm a music production nooblet. I'm sure you get a dozen a day. I have a serious passion for music, *blah blah*, the usual speel I'm sure. Anyways, I joined here looking to learn how to create music, specifically electronic music. I'm BRAND-freakin' new. This is my first music site to join, by chance, so congrats!
Music history; I have an ear for it, but little applicable experience, and no real tool for the trade. I recently got Ableton and it was too much of an undertaking, so I've opted for Magix Music Maker for now until I master the basics.
Other; I have a graphic design background. I go to school for advertising, but recently I've been overwhelmed with the urge to produce music. Here's some art I've made in the past; http://jacobphilpott.deviantart.com/gallery/
Here's a hypothetical album cover I made. Now I just have to learn how to make the music that goes with it... I think I went out of order lol...

I really would like to contribute to the community while absorbing all the information I can. I'd like to contribute my art skill. If someone wants a EP album cover or just a pic to go along with a song, maybe I can help you out.

Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here
Hey Guys, my name's Chris, and I'm an inexperienced but aspiring electronic music...artist? Not really sure how to define what I do. At this point for me, this kind of stuff is just something I do as a side project to school and my other music stuff (I play guitar and cello). I only started making some dubstep and electronic stuff in general a few months ago, and I use Ableton Live 8 and a MicroKORG XL as a MIDI controller. I'm hoping I can get some help from people here, and advice on what directions do go with my stuff. From what I've done, I absolutely love making electronic music. I hope to have some good and beneficial experiences on this site.
Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here
Hello fellow forum users! My name is Jaeger Wilks aka JaeBDub. I love dubstep/drumstep and this new wave of house music I've been hearing lately. A couple things about me... I'm an intern at OX + CO which is a PR and Branding agency. I also edit podcasts for a company called Spark Tech Talk which interviews high ranking individuals in the tech community. Steve Wozniak is one for example. I produce some music but it is very hobbyish. You can find some examples here | http://www.youtube.com/user/JaeBDub?feature=mhee | I recently started a blog that is a compiling list of my favorite tunes. I post once a day, everyday, and give an explanation of why I like the song. Also links to get in touch with the artist. There is also a list on my blog that I add to as well. It's called Artists to Look Out For, and it also gets a new addition everyday. | http://jaebdub.blogspot.com | If you have a song in mind that you would want me to post about you can reach me in several places that I will list below. Thanks for listening to my rant, take care fellow dubsters.

Hey all, Im a big fan of more chilled out dubstep (or chillstep, if you wanna call it that) and love the way that dubstep has such great potential as a genre, which I beleive we're only just beginning to explore - I joined this site mainly to suss out the dubstep scene in New Zealand, and also to try and gain valuable feedback on my own work as an artist within the 'chillstep' sub-genre, as well as to discuss and keep tabs on the evolution of this amazing music into the future.
Peace!

I suppose I better say the genuine "Hello all" and add a waving smiley face emotion or whatnot.
My name is Dave. I appreciate some dubstep. I have attempted to produce some so far using FruityLoops Studio and Ableton Live 8, however have not really achieved much. Still trying.
Favourite producer is Cyberoptics. Followed by Ry Legit. Don't judge me. I tried.

Hey folks, not new to the site but new to posting. I'm from San Diego, CA and have been DJing since '99 and started in on dubstep about 2005. Just had my first track released on Future Follower Records and have remixes and more on the way. Currently also sorting out a monthly mix series and got some new tunes up on my SoundCloud page as well. There's some tunes for free download up there too. Anyway, cheers everyone, see you around.
