officially the US never had "colonies" they had protectorates that were ruled in the same way as colonies. places like Guam, American Samoa, The Philippines, and liberia (which was stupid fucking idea in the first place)Laszlo wrote:On a serious note, is the word 'colony' is never used to describe the Philippines? Because the U.K had colonies and protectorates but they meant very different things iirc.ehbrums1 wrote:we like the word protectorate thank you, but yes. we went suppressed em european style and then slaughtered em when they rose us.Laszlo wrote:Weren't the Philippines an American colony?

Jeez sd5, sort your ppl out;
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... alley.html
The dark, disturbing secrets of a picturesque Australian valley where unwashed children born from generations of tsecni lived with physical deformities in a 'cult' of 40 adults and youngsters emerged today.
Incapable of intelligible speech, some of the children had oddly-formed features as the result of being born to parents who were themselves related.
Brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts had sex with one another over four generations, raising childen in squalid conditions who themselves grew up to become intimate and have more inbred children.
The children found living in filth in sheds and broken down caravans had numerous disabilities from their inbred births, including a boy with a walking impairment and severe psoriasis, another with hearing and sight problems and yet another boy whose eyes were misaligned.

Re: Post Your Random Thoughts Thread!
This guy I work with repeats all his stories over and over.
Each day it's like hearing yesterday's story.
But to him it's the first time.
Either he has a terrible memory or he just likes telling the same stories.
