can anyone recommend me some athmospheric black metal?
I don't know a lot of black metal in general apart from the more obvious (and sometimes wack) stuff like Burzum, Gorgoroth, Nagelfar, Windir, Shining etc. if somebody could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

iirc i used to be into deathspell omega, xasthur, nortt, darkspace, agalloch, lantlos, alcest, amesoeurs, blut aus nord, trist, kataxu, negura bunget on a more atmospheric tip
personally i was more into shit like watain, gorgoroth, the more rock-ish stuff from satyricon, darkthrone etc

on an unrelated note, the function & vatican shadow album is pretty good

most "rock-ish" stuff (like Shining aswell) gets pretty boring over time imho. I really like some of the gritty, underproduced, noise-driven stuff (like most demo records etc).
thanks for the recommendations, will look into it. :)

Not new but If you want the most insanely under produced but also atmospheric check out the Striborg album Spiritual Catharsis. It's on the line between being genius or awful but worth checking out just for how fucked it sounds most of the time

New Austin Cesear album. Not as good as Cruise Forever, but still good. Better than 99% of the endless Opal Tapes releases.

New TV On The Radio album Seeds coming soon. Quite like the lead single off it.

New Die! Die! Die! album, Swim out in a couple of days.

If you have one, what's your favorite NTS show? I've checked in before but never remember the names of the stuff I hear on their stream.
