No, the point was that just because that one guy eats vegan and chooses to stuff his face with junkfood doesn't mean that it's apart of being on a 'vegan diet' and you can be vegan and eat non-processed food exclusively.
Ok ok I see. I'm assuming that you're vegan then? I'm interesting in knowing what kind of foods do vegans/you eat on a daily basics? What do you sub meat with for example?

What kind of response is there to what so may call a deficient in diet etc?
I'm not vegan. I eat a shitton of meat, turkey is a good source of protein and I lift weights. It was more about your logic in that instance.
It was a bit of generalisation, but i know vegans who endearing claim to be super healthy because their vegan but then eat junk food. My main point being was directed towards those were say eating meat is super ban and everyone should become vegan, but in fact, behind closed doors they are eating all the shit.

Lentils/beans are a good substitute for meat.
I eat lentils everyday, it's cultural, and very nice. Where is the source of omega3? Mainly it comes from my beloved salmon, but you get can it in nuts too. However, the amount by no means is the same.

You've never had KFC gravy have you?

But seriously life without KFC and beer would be the worst.. end up calling coke things like "fizzy pop". Fuck that, hand me the gravy and Stella.
I've had my far share of junk. Monday use to be the mcd's, Friday's use to the kfc zinger tower meal with wings. In-between fish chips was lust, love cheesy chips was this shit. I've had the whole lot.

KFC with the gravy that comes in that little tub and you pour it all over… yes i have.

I'me saying junk food is shit without having tried it, you gotta try stuff to know. But i tried it, for years, and then i started cooking myself. I prefer home cooking instead because i know what i'm putting in. It's healthy to put it very simply.

^they're both totally different though. Fast food is nice cos it's full of shit, that's what makes it good. Whereas, home cooked meals are full of fresh ingredients and flavours. Both good at different times, when I'm steaming I drunk I want fat processed crap.

Also, at what point did I say I want to eat KFC everyday? :cornlol:

Fair enough if you don't want to eat it, but you're coming across like you think you're a better person cos you always eat home cooked meals.

For example, I work 12.5 hour shifts, 7.15-7.45 day/nightshift hardly going to cook myself a meal after that, so a microwave meal or fast food is the easiest option.

You didn't, but because you said you don't have time to cook everyday I was assuming you was eating KFC everyday, with gravy obvsl

lol… i've never said YOU said cook every meal fresh with your own hands. I was merely stating that i've done the fast food route, now i cook my own stuff, from what i've learn fast food is shit, so if your interested the healthy vs unhealthy debt, then yes you should get healthy food over fast food. This is merely my option from my exp, i'm not holding a gun to nobodies had and saying eat your veg.

In regards to the timing. I'm, a final year law student, i'm working reading writing and working 10 a day (have final exams) but i still cook my own dinner. I could have spend 30 mins play xbox for example, or i could have spend that 30 mins cooking i the way i see it.

The only reason why i eat healthy is for my health. For years when i was a teenager i use to eat all sorts of rubbish and that finaly come back to hit. It's almost a must for it. poo diet normally = poor health. I've trying to fix my health with good food, hence why i stopped eating shit.

Junk food = food that void of nutritional value.

I wouldn't say poor diet = poor health... not great health I'll give you that.. but certainly not poor, not to the point where you need medical help like diabetes or something.

Surely you enjoy eating healthy though? Cause that would make sense, but people who hate it and put themselves through it just for good health makes no sense to me. Why try extend your life if you aren't enjoying it?

Do you not drink then?

Of course i enjoy eating healthy, plus one could also say its like placebo effect. At first eating healthy was awful because of the lack of flavouring, everything use to taste blend. But you just learn a few bits and bobs from the internet and now it's call good. I enjoy the a variety of food now as well, whereas when i was eating junk its was many simple carbs and meat.

I use to drink. In fact i was a rebel drinking since i was like 14/15, used to get pissed in the park with my mates - the typical. I stopped drinking around 1 year ago. My last drink was when i when on hildays with the lads to marbella. Beer use to my think, and cider too.

Main downside of eating healthy and just living a healthy lifestyle is to determinal is has on your social life. Think about, you go out, you drink. You go to the pub you drink. You go to nandos/kfc for a munch. You got to the movies and everyone orders ices cream and slush puppy, what do i order? Gotta me ready for that. I don't really give a waffle so it don't really bother me that much. Is it what it is.

Assuming the next question...

Fair play man, sounds like you wanted to turn your life around and did. I dunno if I could if I wanted to.. eat healthy, not drink ect. At the moment I have absolutely no reason to, better health isn't important to me because I'm lucky enough to have decent health (I think). Definitely abusing my good fortune.

I think it'll all a mind set really. You get use to living in such a way for so long, the idea of changing completely sound bad, but once changed, previous living looks not so good. Everyone to their own prerogative.

The stange thing about health, is that conditions and as such come about, well to your awareness, overnight and then it has a spiral effect causing other issues. So hence why most people, including myself, don't even give health a thought, untill its too late.

Lol. You've literally not read a word I've put. I'll put it a little more plainly...
How do you get to me not reading a word you've put when this was an earlier exchange.
Muncey wrote:

Pretty much, unless you wanna shit where you eat. Not better conditions, you can do that in a generalised way.. but if you wanna target a group.. yeah.. shit where you eat. It'll impact meat eaters all over if successful but that isn't the aim, its religious or cultural prejudice.. has fuck all to do with animal rights/suffering.
I removed the rest because it's already agreed. My only claim in this thread is that ultraspacial's position that you can't eat meat and care about animal suffering, is wrong. I've already stated that eating animals that have suffered and claiming to care about animal suffering hypocriticial.

Fair enough. You can eat meat and care.. My point wasn't agreeing that you can't but the fact the average meat eater doesn't care.
scspkr99 wrote:you can contend as muncey does that the only people who should care about the conditions of farmed animals is those that don't eat them.
Actually the only people who should care about the conditions of farming animals/animal suffering.. are those who genuinely do care. Not care only when it suits them to attack another group of people and act purely blindly to their own situation. Most meat eaters, despite what they may or may not believe, in practice do not care and therefore it is hypocritical of them to pretend they're some moral priest.

Its easy to preach morally correct things but if you don't "practice what you preach" why should anybody give your arguments any credibility?

So I pretty much agree with everything you've said but it applies to a very small group of people, the rest are hypocrites to pretend they're interested in animal welfare in farming.. cause most meat eaters would watch Food Inc, be horrified, then go straight back to eating meat 10 minutes later.

God, this last couple of pages are lame.

I cook fresh every night, but a great deal of junk food is fucking delicious. Liam's the only person in here with a pair of balls and a sense of perspective.

When I moved house about 8 months ago I stopped being within walking distance of McDonalds... everyone who's ever "given up" junk food told me that if I didn't taste Micky D's for 6 months, the first one I had would be disgusting. I had my first one in around 7 and a half months this week and it was like a fucking gift straight from Heaven. There's no way I'd want that every day, but to deny yourself a greasy treat once in a while because your heads got so far up your own arse that everything tastes of shit is a waste of precious life.

It's like telling people you don't like MDMA anymore.
