Hmm I was going to buy it this week.
Should I buy it even if there's a chance that I get a fucked up one, or should I wait for a repress?
And what about MEDI018 (Purple Love/Test), is it fucked too?

To let you all know were are thoroughly looking into the claims that some tracks seem "muffled".
Today we tested a random selection of records from our warehouse to find none were faulty.
This record was pressed at one of Europe's best pressing plants using only virgin vinyl. Add to that it was mastered by Transition. All these added together should produce a quality product. There should be no variation from the first TP to the last finished record off the press.
If possible please try the records out with various deck/needle/speaker set ups to eliminate any possibility of it being euipment related.
We'll keep you informed of our findings.

imo it doesn't sound right. I've tried it on 3 different decks... including my brand new-ish NAD turntable with new stylus... plus 2 decks at work... Technics with brand new needles (put in today). The worst track by far is Beauty. The piano at the start is distorted and the bass when it comes in is likewise fuzzy and distorted.
I played it to a mate of mine .... also a dj... and unprompted he asked me to take it off... as it was sounding awful. He is a big Silkie fan... like me... and couldn't bear to hear it sounding so bad.
Play Beauty again... check the piano ... surely it's not right?!

Same here... did you pre order with Redeye or get it through Chemical? Do you receive a e-mail from Redeye if a delivery is on its way, as I've not heard anything...

i duno who to feel more sorry for, us or silkie. Surely the guy must be just as pissed off. i understand some things can not be helped. But i hope the problem gets sorted n we can maybe send our copies back n get a proper version. If not and the cd is all good i might have to go with it just for beauty.

Pretty much every track on my copy is f*cked. With the greatest of respect to ST Holdings, it's all very well telling us to try different needle/deck combinations, but alot of copies are clearly substandard.
Such a shame for this to happen to an album I've literally been waiting a year for!

I got mine today and there are a couple of muffled/slightly distorted tracks on there.
But, that doesn't stop the artwork and sleeves being beautiful and the album being fantastic. Hats off to Silkie and everyone involved with this.

While I am anxiously awaiting my copy here in the states, and pray it is not a dodgy copy, let's remember that enjoying this music is not a right, it's a privelage!
Still though, it's gutting

Would that be MPO of France? Or GZ of the Czech Republic?
Optimal Germany.
Progress is being made. We hope to update you with a definitive answer and solution soon.
