Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

25 year old Dan Richmond first immerged into the Dubstep scene mid 2009 with his debut self-titled Album - Clubroot. Having enjoyed a healthy Drum and Bass scene in his early teens, alongside a liking of UK Garage, House and Trance, a local Music Technology course was the logical progression for the aspiring bedroom DJ. After discovering that the music he loved could be produced in such simple home studios, Clubroot went on to University to study Music Production for 3 years.

It was during his time at University that Clubroot discovered the sounds of Dubstep, via Mary Anne Hobbs Dubstep Warz Show in 2006. Taking an immediate liking to the work of Vex’d, Skream and Loefah, tastes soon progressed towards the deeper side of the scene with the ore inspiring debut album releases of Distance and Burial.

Things began moving forward after interest was shown in Clubroots un-official album ‘Embryo’, which was created as a final year project for University. Having been inspired by a number of artists and electronic genres, a brooding organic ambient sound was developing, which showed emotion and musicality, drawing inspiration from his love of early Dark Techy D&B, 2 Step beats, Film Scores and Ambient Electronica. It was the Portland, Oregon based LoDubs label that first took notice of such an exciting artist, and around mid 2008 an official release was due the following year..

During the build up to the Albums release, Mary Anne Hobbs commissioned an Album showcase mix for her Experimental Show, shortly followed by a mix for Rob Booths Electronic Exploration show. It was clear that people were beginning to take notice, with acclaim and recognition from a number of reviewers and critics, including glowing reviews from Pitchfork and Bigup Magazine, amongst others.

With his 2nd Album due for release around May, followed by an E.P, as well as plenty of collaborations in the pipe line, and recently voted as one of the best new producers and best album in the 2009 Dubstepforum Awards, Clubroot is sure to create a big impact this year.

Absorbing all bass heavy and exhilarating styles of music in Bristol's melting pot of creativity; DJ/Producer "Baked" has his own take on the Electro -Dubstep sound currently exploding across the UK and worldwide. The rave bug had Baked hooked and with some 1210s and a stack of vinyl - He never looked back. Baked knows the importance of making music with energy - that shakes dance floors, but can also be listened to as a melodic experience at home. With a diverse range of influences from all genres of music, DJ Baked’s debut EP ( 3-D EP released Feb 1st 2011 on Subdepth Records ) captures his unique melodic synth composition with his bass driven love for music. Now moving more into the 4x4 electro party side of his production, this diverse producer is definitely one to watch in 2011 as he explodes onto the scene.

TKR

TKR, born in 1982 as Thomas Schwarz, is come a long way since he first launched his musicial career in 1998 as Drum and Bass DJ in Thuringia / Germany.
After a few years of being addicted to listen to fast broken beats and co- founding a party- series, it was just a logical step for him to take his first steps in producing electronic music back in 2001, influenced by artists like Klute, Polar, Cause 4 Concern or Total Science.

After re-locating to Jena / Germany, were he still lives, his musical turning point was at the end of 2007 when he got in touch with Dubstep for the first time. This style of music was totally new to him and he was absolutely impressed by the deep progressive basslines and the slow beats. Dubstep combines all the music genres he likes, he said: I can explore a range of different tempos and styles, e.g. combine techno with dub and phat basslines with house- samples.Cause of this new musical influences he decided to leave Drum and Bass scene behind him and concentrate more on producing suchlike deep beat and basses.

The first outcome was a collaboration project with one of his best friends, Norman Bogatzki alias Mr. Boogie from Potsdam / Germany, in 2008, named Submodulation. They were a good team and soon there were results: tunes like Big Up! feat. Phokus (Scrub a Dub). During the year 2009 TKR decided to go his own way increasingly and now his production are more inspired by Dub and Minimal or soulful music. TKR’s tunes and remixes were also signed on record labels like Redvolume (SE), Paradise Lost (US) or Nexgen Records (US). With his TKR-Artworkxxx – project he is responsible for a lot of graphics for artists and label profiles on the internet, as well as a lot of party – flyer. In January 2010 he founded his own dubstep & electronic music label, Stoke Audio.
