Some wicked stuff being posted in here, will give proper feedback soon, in the mean time here's a grimey kinda thing I started last night, only a couple hours work so far and I still have absolutely loads to do to it, any feedback/ideas/suggestions/criticism/whatever would be much appreciated

sounds good so far, the only thing is that the melody sounds kind of out of tune with the bass which comes in, idk, maybe I'd just have that in the intro and maybe a breakdown and you only really need bassline/drums for the impact at the drop- lots of nice variation in that too to keep in interesting. Feel maybe there's a tad too much reverb on the hats too (unless there is no reverb on them lol)

yeah this tune is a bit different, the constant sub pressure isn't something I normally like but it made me feel like my head was going to explode after a while- in a good way. I'd suggest you do a bit more panning though, think it would let things breath a little more. Anyway, nice one.

If ur giving away any tunes can I have them too please Lye Form :corndance:

here's mine- basically just listened to 2562 Air Jordan EP and made this:

Thanks man, I think the tuning issue might be because the melody is from a sample i found, might a matter of just fine pitching it, I wanna change that bass synth a lot too, was more just using it to get an idea for a bass riff, still got silly amounts of work to do to it, agree with you on the verby hats too, will turn that down a bit, cheers for the feedback much appreciated :)

This is absolutely sick mate! The only things I could suggest is that the snares that come in at 1:17 could be a little brighter and the wonky chord stabs in the second half of the tune could be a little louder, other than that this tune is bloody lovely

Feeling this one a lot mate, feel the kick is maybe a tad too clicky though but still a big tune nonetheless

Loving this, proper meditative vibes, reckon the bit when the vocals cut away before the second drop sounds a little too stark and also maybe turn down the crash a bit, wicked tune

love the drums/percussion in your grime bit, overall it sounds pretty sick, actually makes me wanna make some grime-ish stuff!

Hutyluty, i've not actually checked out the Air Jordan EP, but what you've made definitely makes me want to pick it up, just the overall feel on that one makes me want to check it out, it's definitely up my alley of enjoyment :i:

new one from myself, i've spent the last week trying to produce tracks that have a similar vibe/sound/feel to those of the early days of dubstep, somewhere in that process i made this, i'm happy with it.
I really like this, reckon it could perhaps benefit from another melodic line in there to keep things interesting though, second drop sounded large

I think this is really nice so i'm going to be a bit critical & say what i would do with this personally (might be 100% against what you are trying to do):

Sounds too clean - i would saturate shit and make everything a bit more.... grimy.
Lose the gun sample imo.
The main synth sound needs tweeking - i would make it 'squarer'. also you could try layering it (-12 -24) detuned etc, and playing with volume of each channel to give it some power - you can also play with eqs to give it movement. also layering it with distorted 808s would give it a more 'genuine' grime feel.

the clap could do with a grime snare layered on it (google 'wiley snares') or just cut snares out of old grime tunes (yeah cannibalism of genres etc blah blah)

I would work on giving it more space, slow it down, lots of edits to give interesting pauses and shit.

Gewze and i have been working on a grime tune recently too (still just rough idea):

interesting stuff, I feel like his "drops" are a bit weak when compared to how good all the intros sound haha, but thats just me

I don't know what I was thinking when I made this but check it if you can
