Introducing Myself....

Post by KustomDSF » Tue May 01, 2012 7:32 pm

Hi DSF

My name is "Kustom." I've been in and out of the music biz for 6 years now working with artists, producers, publishers, and DJs. I joined this site to capture the essence of dubstep and learn from the community. Hopefully, I can provide you all with some opportunities as well (in fact, I know of one that may help... if anyone is interested in publishing, I can link you to my publisher so we can start shopping your tracks to the TV networks for placement).

Anyway, back to the music. Looking forward to networking.

This is a new one I just made... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytgcYa4RBKo&f

hello!!
This forum looks like it has a lot of useful information. I like dubstep, I guess I'm more into IDM for producing, but so much of the techniques are the same. I hope i can learn a lot here! -LCD

What up guys! Sheaski here, 22 years old. From Queenstown, New Zealand! Known about this forum for a while but never really explored it enough to post on it. I like Dubstep (obviously), DnB, Garage, IDM, Deep house and minimal techno mainly. Stoked to join this community!

Hello Guys,

I am not exactly a new member over here, I just created an account a while ago but have been mainly lurkety lurking all the time instead of participating in the forum. I am a dj/producer who also organizes the craziest dubstep/glitch hop & drum and bass events in Guadalajara, Mexico, they are sometimes bi-weekly or monthly events called Bassculture, our group is called GDL Bass Crew.

I've been a big fan of dubstep back since about 2008 so I mainly prefer the abstract/deep/dark/extremely sub heavy sounding dubs instead of most of the new midrange/noisy dubs that have gone mainstream, and note I said prefer... not to be confused with me hating the mainstream style. I also like glitch hop, so you may see me over a the glitch hop forum a lot. The type of music I like is probably anything that sounds heavy/broken beat, so you can count in breaks/drum and bass/IDM, etc... too :)

I hope to make some friends over here and to improve my production skills also, I like giving and receiving feedback :)

Hi :t:
Since I'm new I guess I should go in on this topic. I make beats on my laptop mostly for fun. I'm not looking for doing it professionally or anything like that. I'm looking to meet cool people and maybe get some ideas on whats out there and share what I've seen. I'm a YouTube junkie. I could spend hours listening to beats and watching videos. So thats me. :4: (Oh and my name is Dusin)
Nothing lasts forever, so live it up, drink it down, avoid the b.s, take chances and never regret because at one point it was what you wanted.

Heya, decided to finally use this forum, since Ive had a registration for more than a month, but never really entered...
Anyways, Im BSDS, or Zeus, and Im just a simple dubstep (and yeah, Im talking about the one that sounds like malfunctioning kitchen appliances) fan, this summer its gonna be my aniversary since I fell in love with this godsent music. I also have a small promotion channel on Youtube, but Im not gonna talk too much about that, since I dont want to sound like Im advertising.
Uhm, I came here to find awesome tracks and people with a good taste in music that will be fun to comunicate with.
And people that might give me production tips (if I EVENTUALLY decide to get off my lazy rear end and start doing SOMETHING). :D

Fun fact: when I wrote the forum's address, I wrote .net by accident and ended up on some Chinese/Korean/idk website and went :corntard:
"Check that shit out: system spec - hardcore motherfucker, like resolution - 2560 x 1600... Im Athene, I break world records, I break everything, I got the blingblangblow... I own your face, I own your face, I own your face because you suck!!"

I'm very new to the genre. I started really listening last June. However, I know a lot of people are going to hate reading this, I am accustomed to well, the music or whatever you want to call it that isn't "true" to the genre as some would say. I definitely appreciate the original artists and all that they've done, but I kind of look at it like how old school hip hop heads do with the more recent generations. Hip Hop is my life, and a lot of purists or original dubstep heads remind me of how the golden age of hip hop (92-97) was compared to now. It's kind of funny to think about in contrast. With that said, I won't be posting very much, I'll be mostly soaking in the tunes that you all post and try to get a better understanding of the genre in general. Also I'm really digging a lot of female vocals in songs. It's soothing and chill. I definitely need to step my sound system up though, cause I am missing out on the key elements that make this genre so dope. I have a little sub in my crib, and I'll be getting a decent amp and sub(s) put in my car within the next month or so, so I'll be able to appreciate the great music you guys post up a lot more. Peace - AMG from Minneapolis, MN

Sup everyone :6: I have making dubstep for about a month and I am just getting used to it.it all started when I listened to first of the year by skrillex.I use fl studio and my main synth is the simple 3x osc but I downsample like fuck.I am only 16 but apparently I am not bad at it.I have a extrmley ghetto set up(basically computer, loud speakers, and a midi I rarely use (mostly I use the piano roll.)) I sound like a mix of skrillex and datsik.I am impressed of this forum and I have learned alot from it.

Hey everyone.

I am a producer with roots in hip hop. I've been getting into the dubstep sound for a few years now, mainly from dj friends who spin edm in Baltimore and York, pa. It's been a few years now, and I have been working on my 'sound'.
I work on a pro tools rig, which is quite interesting relative to most of what I've read on here in terms of production.
I know you guys like your fl, ableton, reason, sound forge, reaper and the like, but I just see them all as tools, and I know how to use my tool. So basically, a sequencer is a sequencer is a seq....
The only drawback for me is the rtas vs. vst. But all I have to do is wrap it and I am all good.

I look forward to contributing to this community as I learn from it as well.
Also, I am looking forward to any networking possibilities.
But I'll push my tunes later. Just a hello for now!

Also, anyone who is from the east coast/ pa in the states please hit me up. Always looking for the like minded. :t:
