Hey mate, my name is Neon Ordnance and I'm a dustep producer/dj from Edinburgh. This is a start. You've got the drums down, which is good because that's often one of the toughest parts. Maybe add some more hats and change up the pattern from time to time, but they sound fine. Your bass is off, i recommend getting Albino 3 and making a "Reese" bass sound to start with. Here's a tutorial: http://www.musicradar.com/tuition/tech/ ... und-211550

I start pretty much all of my basslines off this sound, and then tweak it by either turning up the saturation, changing some of the sines into different waves, or some combination of the two.

Speaking of which, here's the latest track I've done:

Needs to be mastered, tightened, etc. but this is the skeleton.

i've been trying to make a datsik style bass in flstudio, i used sytrus, love filter, some delay and reverb, and Sugar Bytes Effectrix.

no where near finished, but tell me what you think :D

what do yous reckon?
Soundcloud

i was going for a sort of headhuntery type... bit trippy and bit sort of repetitive but in like a flowing progressive way. make sure u listen to the second drop, there's a kind of weird melody bit that comes in
man im really feeling this song, liked the drum patterns, subtle melodies nothing too in your face real smooth

maybe it didnt need that voice sample at the start though? perhaps if it was changed to something more distorted and trippy like the song
nice bass and melody lines, youre right, lose the chanting

very much enjoyed this so far. perhaps you could add a little more of a slight melody, nothing too much, but i think thats what it lacks... very nice though (Y)

Soundcloud

Not technically dubstep but plenty bassy and wobbles galore. Doing it for a remix competition.
Some transitions aren't fleshed out yet, and I've left some ideas in progress, but the basic structure is there and it's sounding pretty darn good I think.
I'd appreciate any comments and critiques people have to make.

id bring in the syncopated hihats sooner to keep it moving quicker
and add a little bit of swing to the melody parts

Want feedback on a track so doing my bit 1st...

yeah this is nice, different from stuff that im hearing at the mo, but the melody works well before and after the drop, i would brighten up the drums with some perc and maybe raise the high end a bit more, some triplet drums on the breaks would sound good too.

Wow, this is quite a track, the bass is amazing, i think it gets a bit full at 2 minutes, not sure about the vocal/vox/pad thing in there. The drum track could be brought out too, can only just hear the hits, but the programming sounds good still. Real nice vibes mang.
